Um..the other day I looked up Wested.com, and they had put in a picture of er..current Indy Pants and I didn`t believe what I saw; yet another variation of the "SA" colour, am I seeing right but it´s too dark?!
Yes, I know lighting and so on makes huge difference but anyhow..it can´t be right!

Hi Marq!
If you mean the picture of the pants shown on the right in the Combo offering...it's the lighting that makes the difference! To be honest, until now all the pictures that Wested has shown on their site are misleading in my opinion, especially as the pants are concerned! Those pants don't look SO pink in reality
...not even with my camera. I think there was a previous thread regarding this issue!
If there are new photos or new production material I would be glad if you could send us a link or something similar!

MARQ, I shot many of the photos Peter is using today and I did so because I myself found it difficult to recognize colors from various photos.
I work with this kind of photography everyday and I know for a fact that it's almost impossible to show the actual colors of the "pinks" correct on the internet.
They vary from monitor to monitor and especially the lightness of the pants can vary veru much depending on the settings on Your monitor. I personly work with a hardware-calibrated system in Photoshop and one of the best monitors there is.
It would therefore be ver easy to suggest that You have a monitor "way of". But before doing so I have to say that indygr is right about the lightning being part of the problem. I have shot several photos of both jackets, pants and shirts in both studio and natural light and the shades of especially the shirt and pants are impossible to control.
Before writing this reply I took a trip down the threads containing photos of the pants and on my screen we have hundres of different colors of the same pants.
The photos of the combo-set in the garden was shot just before the sun went down and has a very warm color to it. So You could say that the colors are correct - in that situation.
As for the pants I have no solution to the problem. I could show You a near perfect photo on my screen right here, but the internet is a different matter and I personly believe that the only way to judge is by seing the shirt, pants and jacket together in the same photo. That way You have more colors to refer to.
You can have a look at the same photos on this page where I have edited the photos to be as close to my personal perception as possible - give or take the lightning

i want some wested trousers, but i dont think they have long leg.

Hey Adey!
Order them unfinished and let a local tailor shorten them for you!
Reminder: NO MACHINE WASH!
RECOMMENDATION FOR A LITTLE MORE SCREEN ACCURACY:)
What I did with my trousers was to stitch the pleats down 1-1.3 cm. from the waist. If someone owns both MBA and Wested pants it's easy to notice that MBA trousers' pleats are stitched in the beginning. This influences in my opinion the lining a bit!

Please be carefull with statements like that ...
I'm looking at my Wested shirt this very moment, in natural subdued light, and my shirt is nowhere near being as yellow as the photo You show. Your colors are proably correct in the situation where You shot the photo, but yet alone using a different digital camera would have resulted in different colors.
PS: Indygr is right about ordering the pants unfinished. I bought mine that way, took them to a tailor while wearing my Alden's and the tailor made them just the perfect length. I also wore my jacket, which had absolutely nothing to do with pants length, but what the.... - When having the opportunity, one should go for it...

Not a bad reference, just not exact "this is correct" IMO. But no photos are that, as I said earlier, not mine either unless You look at them on my screen in Photoshop. But as with many other Indy-items we have to accept "close-enoughs"...
BTW: The shirt photos Peter uses on eBay was shot in a studio light that somehow seemed impossible to provide the colors I personly see when wearing the shirt in daylight, but under the cirkumstances they were correct.

IndyK,
I noticed that your photographs are also on Wested's website!
I would propose you to recommend them to put photo:Shirt_and_pants_01
in the pants section. Especially in that photo, the pants look very much like ToD/LC SA!

Indy-K: I bought mine that way, took them to a tailor while wearing my Alden's and the tailor made them just the perfect length.
I did the same thing with all of my MBA trousers. Wore the Aldens down to the shop, along with a movie still to illustrate how they were supposed to sit, and the tailor made them perfect. I think I wore my jacket also, just for the heck of it.

In order to have a different perspective of colours please take a look at this picture shot under cloudy weather - no direct sunlight!
MBA shirt-pants(left) vs. Wested pants & custom dyed shirt(right)

If I had to deside which trousers to get: Wested,MBA,Maqnoli or Paris, I´m heavily leaned to....Wested. As the picture shows; thanks Indygr, there´s hardly any difference in colour!!
They´re affordable and simply look the way they´re suppose to,IMHO

You are welcome Marq!
The differences are very small indeed
...Wested tend to be lighter in colour and form an intermediate way between Raiders - ToD/LC. However, before making the final decision check also the new pants that Platon offers. Their pattern is based on an officer's pink model with very SA, actually extremely SA pocket flaps and the colour being a bit lighter than NH pants but in some Raiders scenes being very SA.
In terms of fit I always believed that it lies according to every person body structure. For example, even if Wested pants taper more in the bottom and they are a bit less baggy than NH pants I find that Wested,
at least on me, fit better than NH pants.
It's all matter of preference!
