Whoopee! G&B Incoming!!!

Post by PyramidBlaster »

Just got off the phone with Travis over at G&B...Finally pulled the trigger!!! Once again, awesome phone service...Lead time is running 1-1/2 to 2 weeks + shipping. Now that this order and the Fed Deluxe IV preorder is in, I'm totally useless.....At least for the next couple of weeks...

And for you people who are taking notes, it's a 44T Dark Brown Goat Expedition...Naturally, I'll post reports as the situation develops....

Congrats Pyramid,

Travis is great to deal with and you will not be disappointed when it comes in. Just remember to savour the leather aroma while it's there.

Cheers

P.S.: It may feel a bit stiff when it comes in. I wanted it to soften and distress naturally so I didn't want to use Pecards. I rolled it up, sat on it, slammed it for about 2 hours and it felt softer after that. I LOVE the jacket and I hope you'll feel the same way.

I just got my G&B lambskin Expedition and wow, is it nice. I wasn't aware the zipper would be on the left and not the right. So I called and they said that's how its made. Shows what I know.

At this point, the zipper could be on the back and I'd be thrilled to see it...It's been so long since I had a proper adventure jacket...I just can't wait.

Really...You'll get used to it. Then you can get mixed up when zipping your OTHER jackets.

I got it!

I ordered it online sat. April 5th and it arrived today, wed. april 16th.

Its lighter and more supple than I expected. That's good because it makes it more wearable as the weather warms up. The fit is good.

I'm a happy camper. :D

Mine came today!!! It's totally awesome to have an 'Adventure' jacket again.....

I ordered a size that will just fit now, and will continue to fit as I lose weight...I'm down almost 40 pounds already. I'm 5'11", 46"-48" chest, and in the 260's as far as weight goes...I ordered a 44T, so that it would fit the shoulders, and be snug around the spare tire...But be wearable. I was a little worried about the sleeve length...But the tall size fit like a glove on me. I normally don't wear longs or talls....

So, without further adieu...the pictures....

As far as the Jacket goes, I'm diggin' it...My last 'indy' jacket was one of those Avirex G-8's in Goat, and I loved that thing...But it was like wearing tank armor---so heavy and stiff as to be restrictive. The unevenness of the hides bugged me a bit, too. I like heft and protection, but man....Well, this was just right. People complain about the jacket being heavy and stiff, but I haven't found that to be true, at all...The hides are all top-notch, and construction was everything I expected....A truly fine jacket I'll treasure for years....

Still waiting on my Fed Dlx IV, LL Beans, and J. Crew Ruggeds, but this 'completes' my outfit, for now....Until the next, that is.....

The jacket looks great. I got an email saying my G&B should be shipping next week. Like you I ordered the dark brown goat. I know I'm going love mine as well.

Wear it for a bit, PB! You'll find a LOT of the sleeve length will disappear as it rides up into the elbow area when the arms are bent. The more the jacket is worn, the more it will take on your personal characteristics.

GREAT looking jacket!

HIGH regards! Michaelson

Yeah...I know they'll get shorter...Hopefully not too much, but I'm positive my continuing to lose weight will mitigate it to a degree...I think it'll settle in just perfect once I get to my goal.....

And thanks!!! I think it's a keeper....Ahh, who am I kiddin'? I'm in love all over again...

After having my Jacket for more than 2 weeks I can tell you that I am loving this jacket more and more. The leather smell is still fresh. It has softened up a bit and is SO comfortable to wear now. Wear it with pride and DON'T forget the hat!!
