I was watching the movie Leatherheads(the new George Clooney movie about the beginnings of pro football) and Clooney is wearing this really cool, really distressed leather jacket and I am sitting there trying to decide what kind of leather it is by the way it moves and drapes, and wondering what they did to distress it! Wow! I think I need help!

That is a really cool jacket.

Hah! Everytime I see a leather jacket go by I look at my wife and say "That would make a great Indy jacket!" OR "Look at that jacket! Definitely a Wested!"

She looks at me and says, "Whatever dear!"

I've just noticed the jacket it made by Belstaff. It also looks a bit like the Aero Hercules jacket.

I know the feeling.

A guy walked by the other day with a really cool Wolverine-style jacket and I was seeing what it looked like. I got a stange look from my co-worker and I had to explain that I wasn't checking the guy out, I was looking at his jacket.

They gave me a "yeah, sure" and looked at me funny the rest of the night. I guess it was better that it was my friend that said anything than it coming from the guy in the jacket.

I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to.

The other film jacket I've always been interested in is the Rocketeer jacket. Wested makes them so if I every feel I have enough Indy gear, I would certainly purchase this:

The Floungers in here have probably seen this, but if not, it's the Aero Barnstormer in FQHH. Hasten to add it was taken last summer, so maybe George was watching for tips in the bushes!!

Great jacket, Paddy! I've got an Aero Veste de Rallye in black HH - really heavy leather. I'll have to get a pic of it up on here.

Fair enough, but it's a little hard to wear in public without people thinking you have issues... however, who cares what peopel think!

I thought the same thing when I saw the film, Hunter Jones. It is a nice jacket. I like the way Clooney wore the jacket with his suit, something I had never seen before. I was thinking to myself while watching, "That looks like something Magnoli would produce!"

Hmmm....that Rocketeer jacket is nice.

I got caught up in Flyboys looking at some of the great leather coats in that...

That and looking for MKVII bags now in any WWII scenes from movies/tv (They show up in Monty Python now and then) is a sign this site is getting to me

I spent 20 years collecting the patches for this jacket, not that I can really wear it anyplace. Sometimes you just want a jacket. It's like a wearable poster.

That's a great jacket Tron, and from what I can tell very screen accurate. I made my own for a top gun costume. I know first hand that it's quite hard (and expensive) tracking down those patches.

Particularly compared to what is "normal" these days (he guys wearing girl's jeans 3 sizes too small, or 10 sizes too big hanging around their knees), "having issues" is relative. Now, if you wear a Rocketeer jacket in August in Georgia, then you would have heat stroke issues!

You just have to wear an IJ hat to get the smart comments in the street. So a Rocketeer jacket will be a prime target to the average Joe in the street.

Often it's the pot calling the kettle black, when you get these remarks from folk who look like bums with their heads covered up with baseball caps and hoods and staples protruding out of their bodies under the guise of jewellery

I'll stick to hats.

I watched most of LC last night, and found myself examining the jacket more than any of the action, and fast forwarding parts without it (beginning, meeting with Donovan etc, even the boat chase). A sickness for sure
