I spoke to Optimo about using stiffiner on there hats and they told me it would severly damage the hat. Has anyone here had this happen? I have used stiffner on every hat I own with no problems.

I know this is going to sound dumb
but what is the purpose of using stiffener on hats? I always heard that softer was better and the hat should be kneaded and worn to achieve the desired softness.

It a very soft hat but I just want to add a little bit to hold the bash otherwise it loses it from the slightest touch. Optimos are very soft and fine hats. This is a great dress hat to be sure but I would not take it into the jungle.

Ok thanks for letting me know, I saw stiffener on NogginTops and wondered why it would be used.

I just used a bit on it and it didn't hurt it, just gave it the firmness I want. Optimo sure thinks high of their own hats and not so much of others.

They used nothing but steam on my Optimo and I've had no problems with the bash popping out. I think you need to steam it up a bit.
