Does a hat rack distort the felt?

Hey gang,
My other post shows that there are as many people using a hat rack as there are who use a stand or leave it on shelf.
Since the latter 2 take up too much space, Do hat racks distort the hat in anyway if used daily?
Cheers

I was forced to put mine on a rack when I moved into this little apartment, and it seems to be ok....I may be imaging things, but it looks kinda like it making a small bump on the back where the peg sits....I was thinking about wrapping a cloth or something around the peg so it doesn't put the pressure in one spot, just in case.
Oh, and don't listen to Michaelson, his hats are back when they fed beavers gold nuggets and brushed them 4000 times a day...not sure the felt on our new hats are the same.

One of my early hatrack pegs (a modified shelf bracket) was making a weird mark on my hat, so I popped a hole in a tennis ball and stuck it on the peg. That solved that. I will admit it is not as elegant as a nice hat rack though, but the dirty details can only be seen when the hat is not on it. If the hat is gone, I am gone, so it never bothers me
While you are at it, you can have the idea about using the thick plastic hangers for your jacket. Cut 3/8" ID foam pipe insulation and put it on the hanger to prevent hanger marks on the shoulders of your lightweight jackets. Nice heavy-duty padded hangers...

He lives in my studio off of my bedroom. Great training for Kung Fu! Of course I take the hat off of him before I beat his ***!
