Hi all
The Australian Plaiters and Whipmakers Association has a new website http://www.apwa.org.au .

I know that there are quite a few members that frequent COW that may not know about the new site .
Also others that have an interest in whipmaking that may like to join the APWA as I've seen quite a few posts recently from people trying their hand at whipmaking .

Hopefully before to long we will have a lot of info on whipmaking and plaiting in general...

Here is a little info on the Apwa there is more on the wbsite

Over the years little information on the subject had been printed so the Association produced its own journal, “The Australian Whipmaker”, which is printed four times a year. Contributions from the members form the bulk of the articles ensuring that knowledge and innovative ideas are passed on to all members. Previous issues of journals are also available for purchase to ensure all the published information can be collected if required.

Membership of the Australian Plaiters and Whipmakers Association is open to anyone who has an interest in the subject.

We are a non-profit making group and only need enough money to produce our journal and keep the wheels rolling.

At Present we have just over 300 members worldwide.

Annual subscription is AU$40.00, which includes four issues of the journal. Articles are welcomed from anyone who has any interesting information to pass on, especially tips on how to do things.

The joining fee for overseas members is AU$54.00 because the journal has to go by economy air which takes about three weeks to arrive; we think it starts off by plane but ends up on pony express!

The membership fee is not much when you consider the knowledge base that can be tapped into.

Thanks for your time.
Cheers

Haven't paid my dues for this year yet, but will be sure to take care of it when I get back to Wisconsin at the end of next month.

Since you're the editor, we'll have to be sure to write something for the journal/newsletter when I'm back at your place in October/November.
