Anyone know the turn-around time for a Wested Novapelle?

Just thinking about the possibility of looking into a Wested novapelle when I get the reimbursement from a previous failed jacket attempt. Just wondering how long some of you on the waiting list have been waiting, and the few of you who have them in hand, how long did it take you to receive the jacket in the mail?
Moreover, I'm just wondering if the novapelle is only done with the KotCS design cut, or can you specify something strange like, off the peg raiders cut in novapelle plus custom specs?!
:
Thank-you,
Rex B.

I ordered a custom LC with Novapelle and believe me when I tell you that the material is incredible. I sent the jacket back becuase it was a disaster and rather than be reimbursed, I included PLATON's TOD specs with the returned jacket and requested that the new jacket be made in Novapelle. I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out, but I sent in the new order at the middle of February...

Chev Chelios,
I guess that answers my question, the novapelle can be any cut you request.
How long did it take you to recieve your jacket?
Just curious, why would you say the actual jacket was a disaster although the material was fantastic? Was it just the details of style that were unacceptable? Was the cut different than what you expected?

Right now I'm sitting at the over 1-month wait for my Novapelle CS (ordered Feb 25th).

I actually had a conversation with KT regarding the measurements to get a LC/CS look, a bit of a cross between the two. An LC body but a CS collar becuase the LC collars have been less than reputable for many years now. In the end, KT's measurements were great - the pockets were great and the rest of the jacket would have been save for the fact that I did not order an 80's cut, so it billowed out towards the waist and the collar was incredibly uneven. Pointy on the left, rounded on the right tip, and far too large. I ordered the jacket in December and received it around mid February.
I got it, saw that there was no way I could wear it as it did not look right at all, and sent it back with the specs for the new order. I cannot even begin to tell you how ticked I'll be if the next jacket is trash. They did me a favor by taking back the first jacket as it was custom so they can't exactly just put it back on the rack and re-sell it. They said after this there is no refund or return.
I received a call from Peter around 7 AM the other day telling me the specs on PLATON's list that I gave him that he couldn't do. At this point I really didn't fight it, though he kept reiterating that the pockets the list specified were incredibly small. I trust PLATON's list so I just told him to do whatever it takes to get the thing done and on it's way.
It's a shame these things don't turn out right the first time, but then again, I'm sure Peter's swamped with work as Indy IV approaches. He said once mine was done he'd be taking a break for a good long while.

I have a CS novepelle and cowhide on order. One was a return and one was a new order. Gemma said the hide would be in on monday. Hope to get them soon. I have never had to wait beyond a month for a jacket till now.

That's a curious statement. It makes it sound like Peter hand makes each jacket personally. Maybe he means that he has been closely supervising the creation of some of the more custom special order jackets, like the CS novapelle?

Their targetted wait has usually been about a month for a custom.
OTR's have been turning up in the States in as little as a week!
Bear in mind that with the new film orders will be much higher than normal and that will probably effect lead times.
I'm sure this is as unxepected for them as the new film was for us!
I actually expect the ubercustoms to be suspended for a while in favor of "Custom Sized" jackets. Wings and G&B already have a "No Customs" policy as it is.

Thanks for the clarification Chev Chelios, I just looked up the PLATON pocket specs 7 x 6 1/2 inches. Here's my Todd's standard just for comparison, 7 & 5/16" x 6 & 6/16" So, PLATON's specs are slightly shorter in height and somewhat wider in width, but not that much different. You still didn't mention how long it took
Thanks whipwarrior and Kt Templar for the time frame explanations. I guess one month and a little longer leading up to the movie isn't that bad at all.
I wonder what would happen if I just sent Wested my Todd's and said do this but make the sleeves 3/4" longer and 1/2 inch wider (partially for wetting purposes), match the collar, pockets, buckles etc. as best you can. I would probably get a big customization bill.

Couple of observations there, I hear people measuring to 1/8th or even 1/16th of an inch. I really wouldn't expect to give anybody measures smaller than 1/2 of an inch, with movement of leather and machining tolerances, I believe 1/4" either way can easily happen.
Second, Todds lamb is significantly thinner than Wested's regular lamb and as much much thinner than the NP, don't expect a NP cut exactly the same as a Todd to drape the same.
And expect a significant bill at least £185.

Thanks for the pointers Kt Templar. On the hide, I do expect the novapelle to be somewhat thicker. I wanted this jacket to be more of an everyday use jacket. I considered goat, but decided against it because in my thinking it's a bit too dark from what I can tell. At least the novapelle is not as thick as regular cowhide.
