Is it just me or is the Wested authentic brown lambskin really not dark enough to be SA? After more than two years and distressing, I'm thinking of having it dyed.

These show rather accurate colors.

Yes, it's fine. I wouldn't touch it, other than Pecards or something for treating it occationally, but that's it. Remember, the jacket in the movie had camera filters, lighting, etc. all affecting the color on screen. Your jacket is again just fine.

Looks better than the authentic brown made-from-the-original patterns guaranteed to look like it just came off Indy's back Wested I've had for many, many years.

Trust me - that jacket is wicked awesome. Looks way more like a Raiders jacket than mine.

Compare your jacket to the Kurtz, you are far, far closer than you believe.

Probably depends on the film lighting. I wouldn't put Pecards on it if it could be avoided (if you're looking to maintain screen color accuracy), the opinion of at least one person is that it's border-line as dark as is should be already. Looks at the films, you can be the judge, there are all sorts of opinions out there, your's counts most.

I applied Pecards to my authentic brown lamb jacket and didn't notice any darkening. I do suspect it would darken heavily distressed areas a bit. I certainly wouldn't advise not dressing the leather if it is being used as a regular jacket that you would prefer to wear for decades.

Personally I think the jacket looks great for an Indy jacket but I'm beggining to warm up to the darker brown as it looks a little more stylish.

I think your jacket looks just fine. Great, actually! I agree with whats already been said; the film jacket seems to change dramatically from one scene to the next so to say definitively that this is the color or that is not is a pretty tough call.

Cassidy, how long have you had your jacket? That's the third old lambskin Wested I've seen today. I just got done saying, in a different post that these lambskin jackets are more durable than people give them credit for. I'd almost bet that it's at least 8 years old.

Did you thread the jacket with shoepolish or something? Although I was never a big fan of authentic brown, this jacket looks quit good in this pictures!
