Has anyone tried these shirts @ $54.95? I'm debating on getting either this or the Todd's when they are available, or this if the Todd's won't be ready for the new film.
This seems pretty good, but I think I'd redo all the buttons with a lighter color.
Any thoughts??

Holt,
<smacks head> I did not even think about TOD when I mentioned button color..good point. It would be nice to see the shirt outdoors or on a mannequin, I agree. I'm leaning towards this only because I've heard a lot of neg. comments on the WPG shirts, and I can't really afford some of the more SA versions ($90.00 on up).
I'll wait to see what a few more people have to say then go for one.

It's unclear what material that shirt is made out of, but I'd bet it's a poly blend and I think the material looks kinda heavy.
I'd wait until Todd has his shirts up for sale.

The pocket corners are wrong, the epaulets are attched to the sleeve incorectly and no pen pocket. Of course I'm picky.

True...found a good pic of the shirt on HF, and the bottoms of the pockets are squared...and the sides of the flaps angle somewhat. On the pictures for Todds shirt though, while the bottoms are squared, the flaps are still not quite SA.
Decisions, decisions.

Good for close enough, but with the prices from Todd and Marc, it's just not worth to get a close enough anymore.

It's described as an "altered uniform shirt." Just under it is the base uniform shirt which is 100% poly. I'd pass.

There's also two rivets in the shirt above the pocket which is where the police badge would go.
So, I'd say..."fudget about it".

I think you were looking at the 'cheaper 24.95 version...the Indy version doesnt have the rivets that I can see...they'd be covered by the cloth strip going up and down the front.
I'm just concerned if I wait for Todds, it will not be available for the premeir.

It's still going to be made from the same polyester as the uniform shirt. If they're the same type of fabric that police and emt use here, you wouldn't want to wear it for a costume shirt.

Yeah I was just checking these shirts out and I can tell you from experience, if it is made from a police uniform shirt, stay away from it.
Far away.
In my 15 years of law enforcement, I have yet to get a uniform shirt that is comfortable, most are made out of polyester. They are either too big or too small, they chaffe your skin at the seams, and are usually sewn with monofiliment-type thread that unravels and pokes you.
Even if the modified shirt looks accurate, if it is made from a poly uniform shirt it is going to be nasty wearing.
Trust me.

I'd say if you have the $60 now for a shirt, start scrapping what you can to get the $90 or so you need for one of Marc's Adventurebilt shirts if you want it before the movie premier, and if Todd's (cheaper?) won't be ready by then. Eat peanut butter sandwiches for two weeks if you have to have it by May 22.
