I heard from Ken, today. He finished my hat this weekend and has shipped it.
I'll have it Monday. I'll post pics if someone will tell me how.
Thanks, Ken

I've notice that many use a photo-sharing service, but I don't have one.
Can I just post from a photo on my hard drive?

If you dont want to sign up for a service, use

If you download the toolbar you can use it to upload multiple pictures at once too.

Unfortunately no but that would make things easier. If you get a file on photo bucket let us know and well tell you how to put a photo up.

Not my favorite type of bash ever, but the hat still looks awesome. You're just getting me all hyped up over getting my hat.

That's nice work Ken, thanks for the pics. I can't wait to order my Camptown. Is it possible to show us a gray hat? I'm really interested in a gray Raven Bar crease after I get the brown hat.

Thanks Ken....
I'll probably do a little more with the crown, but it was the brim I wanted, and you did a bang-up job. By the time it arrives, I'll be on a photo-sharing service and will post pics.
Many Thanks, My Friend

My pleasure Randall. To make a note on crowns, I do not over pinch a crown, I set a general shape. I do this because through wear and handling, everyone inevitably tweaks their hats to set the styling. When I ordered a styled Keppler long ago, the crease after a while became too sharp for me after I handled it for a while.
Thus to start with, less is more in my experience.
Peace
Ken

Now that's a thing of beauty. I wish I could get both, but since I'm ordering an AB before prices go up I have to decide, brown or gray, and wait awhile to order the other one. Maybe gray 1st since I have a Keppler, then the brown. You do very nice work Ken, I can't wait to order my Camptown.

Hey Ken,
Had a look at this and other threads as per our phone conversation a few minutes ago, and looks great. I'm in. Give me a call back when you have a chance so we can hash out the details.
Aloha from the guy in Honolulu who is averse to using real names here.

Although my new Fieldmaster wasn't supposed to arrive until Monday, everything fell into place and UPS delivered late yesterday. I am thrilled. It fits perfectly and has a beautiful color. I'm tweaking the bash to suit me a leittle better and will post photos. If anybody is trying to decide which hat to buy, Ken makes one beautiful fedora, so don't hesitate, especially at his prices.
I do have two questions:
1. Should I use steam to help with the bash?
2. What should I use to clean spots on a hat?
Many Thanks

PICTURES! PICTURES!
From what I've heard, it's best to avoid steam and just lightly use a spray bottle with some water. Don't take my word for it, though. Hopefully somebody else knows for sure.

I think it's best to use water unless the hat has a lot of stiffener in it, then maybe steam?

Congratulations!! Can't wait to see what it looks like on you. Hint, hint.
Don't be afraid of the steam. If hat makers & refurbishers use it so can you. Do the dry bash and then use the steam to set what has been done. No worries! I've done it on all of my hats with good success & no ill effects. Just remember to steam until warmed & slightly damp & you'll have it. It doesn't take a lot.
Cheers!
Dan

What a nice lid!!! I can't wait to get mine. What bash is that anyway and how long did you wait for the hat to ship?
It looks like a nice rich color that will break in well.

RR: Good looking lid there! Are there any other tweaks you want to do to it or have you found the shape that you like the most?
I've found that after 2 1/2 years I'm still tweaking it to revise the look of it a bit. Besides it softens the feel of it & it's fun to play with it.
Congratulations on your new lid, you'll love it more & more as time goes on! Can't wait to see the new pics later on.
Cheers!

Daniel Jones....
Actually I want to get it to look just like yours without quite so tight a pinch. I'll get there.
Many Thanks

Why thank you Randall, I'll take that as a compliment. Yeah, it is a bit of a tight pinch, but I did start it out that way to get that broad arrow look from the top view of the hat. I'm sure you'll get the look you want before long. It's a pretty easy process.
Cheers!

Well look at you. That Feldmaster is coming along nicely. I like the second pic where you're looking down a bit. It showcases the crown very well. Good Job!!

I'm not in the market for a gray one, but I have to say it looks quite spiffy.

The Metropolitan is a pretty sweet lit too. It also lends well to a Raiders bash as well.

I'm tempted after the Metropolitan. That's one sweet lookin' lid! The block shape is spot on and it mushrooms more than well. (Sorry, big fan of mushrooming, haha)
