Hi.this jacket I got today was a jacket I ordered at the same time as my goat.this jacket was actually ment for a friend of mine but it turned out he did not want it afterall.so I took it;)

and man am I glad I did.this jacket is the best jacket that I have gotten out of wested.it's so soft and yet durable.I think it will take on Naturell distressing very easy.NO artificial distressing on this one.well maby just a soak to give it character.it's still new and a little stiff.

the jacket is a special offer rotla 44 authentic brown Lamb.just need to change those D-rings.I still dont get WHY they dont come with rectangulars??

right out of the bag.
what do you think?

Are you sure you didn't order that one on the sly, Holt? It looks tailor made for you. Best one I've seen on you to date!

Honestly, just wear it and don't take a chances soaking it, considering how well it fits you now. Just roll it up in a ball when you're not wearing it, toss it in your closet overnight that way, sit on it, and just wear it. Some have even slept in theirs to form fit them a night or two. It will loosen up quickly when you do that for a while.

HIGH regards! Michaelson

Hey Holt,
44 is what you normally wear?

Why...thank you Michaelson :D
hehe..I wonder why you think I ordered in the shadow, hmmm

no serious...it was actually for a friend of mine.he said to me two dayes after the ordering that he had found another jacket wich he has really wanted for a long time....

it's just a 44 of the rack 80's fit.no leather facings and made to screen accuracy....(yeah right..D-Rings)but other then that SA all the way in my eyes.but I will change those rings.I have some spare from KT

it fit well with a sweater underneath(as you see in the pictures) and also fits very well with just a shirt on.I have a picture with just a shirt on too if you want to see?just for the fit I mean..

Looks great either way Eric! A few good rainstorms will give that lambskin the look you want.

Hi Holt,
the jacket looks great. (So does that coastline!)

Do you feel a big difference between the regular and the 80s Cut?

I ask because I first ordered a horsehide 44 regular that fit me fine but a little wide, so I took it to my local leather tailor and she took it in a little bit in the sides. The length is good though and is below my waist, down to my belt.

I then ordered a 44 80s Cut and it was a lot narrower but also quite a bit shorter. Although the sleeves are OK, the jacket barely goes down beyond the top of my jeans.

So for me, there is a big difference between the regular and 80s cut, although it could be that the original HH 44 was just a bigger jacket all around, maybe even a 46 (I ordered a 44 but the jacket itself does not have a size tag).

That 44 fits you perfectly. How tall are you Holt?

I'm about 180 cm (6'11") and about 85 kilos.

the jacket fits so much more better then my 44R.yes it was the same for me too.the 44r was a little to roomy in the chest and sides.the special offer rotla or 80's cut in other words fit me so much more better.

my chest measures 44 relaxed.

there is not such a big difference in the R and the 80's cut but the 80's is more tappered in body and sleeves.

fits you more like a tailored jacket

I am 6'(187cm,ca) 95 kilos

the coastline were I stand is actually a Viking cemetery.that big pile of rocks is actually a grave.there are about 9 of them around.it's pretty cool to be there.you feel the spirit

No way.

The leather is much thinner, so beware of sharp and pointy obstacles when you're wearing it.

I am actually suprised how much beating the rotla lamb can take.here the other day I was gonna distress my other 42rotla.
I went very hard to work on it.scratch it with a steel bruss.sandpaper and a pocketknife.it held up very well and did not tear or make one single cut in the jacket.it was just the surface that took the beating.

I was very suprised, cause I went really hard to work on it.I REALLY

From the looks of that coastline, I don't think a suit of armor would benefit from a roll in THOSE rocks, so don't try it in ANY of your fine jackets!!! =;

If it is a Raiders Jacket, the Yoke seam on the back should be higher than the armseam for crying out loud.
I cant understand why Peter cant pull this off? :-k

I think it's spot-on. Looks perfect.

I need to get some pics up of my lambskin 44 -- which I find too short for me.

It’s really bugging me.

From seeing that 80s-Cut size 44 on Holt, I’m sure that my 80s-Cut 44 is a smaller jacket, as I know Holt is even a little bigger than me.

My jacket fits too short – it barely goes below my jeans waistline.

Is it possible that some of Wested’s jackets differ in size even when labeled the same?

According to Peter, it means rejigging several pattern pieces.

I don't think Holts is an 80's cut. I think it's a Roltaa special. They are slightly longer.

The length of your jacket would depend on how long you ordered, it is possible that a standard for your height falls somewhere different in relation to your belt line. Note that 2 years ago the "fashion" on the boards was for a shorter jacket, currently people are favoring longer.

That is hands down, one of the best fitting jackets I have ever seen here, if not THE best. Nice acquisition! I love the way the back panel looks. Well done.

Great looking jacket! I've got my Wested on order. Last email said it was being made so should have it soon. I'm hard on leather jackets. I'll only have the one (my son ended up with my last two-I'm still a growing boy lol) anyway, I opted for the horsehide. Not SA but VERY durable. i can't believe you didn't order that for yourself. Looks made to order for you

Holt did get a HH jacket. There is no mention of it in this thread because it is an old thread that was brought back to life.
