Looks nice, just like that scene in Raiders. What did you do?

Looks great, what distressing techniques did you use?

just good old sandpaper and a swiss army knife

Looks fantastic, Holt!!
That's the feeling I went for on my jacket - not that look, but definitely that feeling: realistic, not overdone, and blended and smooth. I just didn't make mine look as old as yours, because I don't think my jacket could "wear" that much distressing and still look realistic. It's not actually old enough yet. Anyway, great job!

thanks shane.I have dressedit up with a bit of mink oil, just like the original jacket.
now it looks even better.off course you have to see it in person to understand.but it has more of a darker duller distressed color and surface to it.
I'll take some pictures.maby you will see it

Mr Holt, that looks great. I would be too scared to take a knife to a jacket.
allthough i do have a dremmell multitool.

yeah.it's a choice to make.but I did not worry about it because this is not gonna be a everyday jacket.it's a mannequin jacket.
so after distressing two of my jacket's I wont fake distress them anymore.this was just a project
in my opinion now,it's not they way to go with a jacket anymore, naturell distressing is the best way for a everyday jacket.it will last longer and you cant beat the look of and beautiful naturell aged jacket
I am sure Michealson will be proud of me.hehe

Yeah, there are some awesome photos of the original gear but there's a lot of searching to be done. It'll turn up soon. Hang on...
EDIT - here's Noel's gear.

That's pretty impressive weathering. The only thing that seems odd is that the edges of the wear on the sleeve and pocket are too straight. Is that just an artifact of the photo?

dragged behind a truck distressing
I wanted this jacket to look like it ''could'' be used as a stand in jacket or a stunt jacket for stuntman terry who was dragged behind the truck
so that's why
bests

thats the point.I wanted it to look like a articial film jacket.
I dont care about this jacekt cause it was a little to tight for me around the shoulder and chest.
so I made a ''stunt jacket'' out of it

thats cool , i wasnt tying to trash it, i just dont like the lines around the seems(maybe if they blended in more and looked less stripe-ish)

Forget the mannequin, you have to wear this jacket. It looks great. You didn't go too far with the distressing. The back of your jacket is perfect.
