Indy's ToD Tuxedo.....

I'm thinking possibly of putting this together before the Queen Mary.
From what I can tell from pictures, the movies, etc, this is what I've found out on this "costume" - please give lots of feedback!!!!!

Shirt - white tuxedo shirt with "normal" tux wingtip collar, EXCEPT no funny "tuxedo" pleats on the front of shirt, it's just a normal shirt front. It does have the cufflink holes and stud/button holes thou.

Pants - regular black tuxedo pants - QUESTION - do they have the fancy black stripe on the sides of the legs???

Vest - regular black tuxedo vest - 3 buttons

White Suspenders

Tie - Regular Black Bow Tie - tied by hand, not the "clip on" type

Cufflinks & Studs - Regular black studs but some fancy looking cufflinks, not sure the design of them.

Jacket - Tuxedo/Dinner Jacket - Ivory/Cream in color, one button on front, open pocket with white pocket hankie, regular "tuxedo" type wing-tipped collar. Four buttons on each sleeve, same color as jacket

Red Carnation

Black Dress shoes - what style?

thanks all!

I'm sure he will see this - but you may want to ask Sergei - he wore that outfit at last years QM summit.

There's probably at least two buttons on the front of the jacket. Traditionally the bottom button is never buttoned.

I thought that if, by some stroke of luck, HJS and I were actually to get married someday, it'd be killer to have an Indy wedding, and have him wear that tux, and me wear my Marion dress (movie crossover...whatever...) And to heck with the wedding march...I want Marion's theme played as I walk down the aisle!!!

That's not a bad idea....... Marion's theme as you walk down the aisle, and the Raider's March in full glory when he "Kisses the Bride!" and you walk (or skip) back down the aisle!

You could serve Monkey Brain Jello at the reception and your first dance would have to be "Anything Goes!" in Cantonese!

Excellent ideas! Actually, we ordered a jello mold trio for our Indy party--brain, eyeballs, and heart. And...we ordered a beating heart, and a skull-on-a-spear!!! I'll have to find the website address for you, but the place we ordered from has all sorts of stuff perfect for an Indy event. They even had a hieroglyph wall, but it was $160, a little out of our budget (especially considering we also ordered these cool fake fire table-torches.) We're gonna do some punch with eyeballs floating in it, and brain jello with raspberry syrup poured over it (or something to that effect) to make the brains look especially realistic!

Hey Maryon, PM me with all your party ideas, websites, etc. I'm gonna have a party here April 5th before we go see Raiders at Midnight that night (and yes, Kath will wear the dress that evening too!) - and the more ideas, the better!

Thanks!

I was so sad when we went to see Raiders at the midnite movie, because HJS went in full gear, and Elizabeth was still fixing the dress, so I just had to put on some lame sembelence of an Indy outfit (Gap khakis, a beige shirt, my brown Doc Martens, my definitey-not-Indy-style brown leather jacket... ) Ah, maybe someday....Incidentally, when the dress scene came on, some stupid girls behind us said "Oh God, what an ugly dress, it's got a big bow on it..." I almost stood up and said something, and probably would have, if I had been wearing mine...something to the effect of "You have a problem with the dress?" They would've felt pretty dumb had I been wearing it.

I shall indeed let you know about the party plans. It's been pushed back again, so our target date at this point is March 1st.
