New Magnoli bag and strap**updated

Post by Holt »

hi.this is my new bag I got from magnoli.

I can not begin with how great the detail is on this bag.
the color is olive green with a tint of brown in it.but mostley olive green.it's like a faded green army color.

the bag strap just screams raiders and it so soft and supple.the buckle is great!

I will recommend this bag to anyone who is thinking of getting one of magnoli, just do it.you wont be disapointed! :D

the bag comes with a worn look and feeling to it
what do you think of this one guys? :D

Wow. I must say I hadn't considered a new bag, but seeing that one makes me think I should pick one of those up. I just wish I had seen it before I ordered my trousers from Magnoli.

yes pick one up.it's worth the money.

remeber this picture is with flash,so you dont see the little tint of brown in it.it only comes out as faded army green.

but trust me,the tiny tiny brown tint in makes it just look worn and faded.
i wouldn't have had the bag with out it.

it's so awsome

Magnoli's stuff is always beautiful. When I can afford it I'd love to get one of these.

Quick question: Is the strap the "dusty brown" Magnoli was offering a few months ago or the new plain "brown" color?

Holt's is one of the last of the "dusty brown" run. I will no longer be offering this color, only "brown" and "dark brown".

Kind regards,
Magnoli

I'm on a random thread rant tonight so forgive me.

Love the bag! Love it!

One thing though, I don't think it's cool to add in the 1942 stamp. I dunno why, but this just feels wrong to me. What I mean is that I love that my bag says 1942 (or whatever it says in it) and that is one of the cool conversation parts of it.

I think you should make a custom stamp with your Indy Holt - 2008 stamp. I think that would be just as cool and not steal the thunder from the original bags.

But ya, great bag!

Won me over! Just placed an order - chose the lighter brown strap with flat buckle 8)

No more bulging pockets...! :D

...because I've spent all the cash that was in them on Indy gear! :?

Cheers, Holt!

What's so great about a lot of the Indy stuff is that you can use it everyday. I wear my Wested every day, I've got some Aldens coming and I've long been looking for something that'll hold my phone, glasses, notebook, book, ipod etc. 8)

Alex

Er, cough - whether or not I wear my Fedora every day when it comes has been thrashed out in another thread

I'm lost. Does the 1942 steal any more thunder than the rest of the duplication? It does say Magnoli Clothiers inside does it not? :?

Looks Awesome. Definitely my next Indy bag!

Nice score with the "dusty brown" strap Holt. Not only does it look great, but sounds like a collectors - collectors item now!

Perhaps it's just me, but I feel that the stamp is what gives it that authenticity. In all my vintage WWII stuff there is a stamp that shows the date and if it was issued or not.

It's almost like (and I'm not all uber patriotic or anything), by putting the stamp on there as 1942 it's not paying respect to the originals or what they stand for. Ya, I realize I'm kinda being a tad lame about this, and it's not like it's some blasphemous thing that means they should all be burned or anything....

I dunno, it's hard to explain is all. It just feels like it doesn't pay respect to the original bag by leaving the one thing that makes it different from all the other replicas. It's nothing to do with money, or bragging rights, or anything....just respect.

Maybe Magnoli sees it as an homage..... I have no problem with it. He doesn't try to pass it off as an original. Most replicas of ANYTHING are exact or as close to exact as the real thing they are replicating. So why not the 1942?
