Ok, I apologize ahead of time...I can't get search to work for me, or I'm impatient, or.....

Is there an official brim width? As I wait (very patiently :D ) for my AB, I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about fedoras.....

Yours in hat-sickness,
Dean

Yep, it's amazing what you find on our main site, even if it IS old info and being updated as we speak.

So that is official?

Thought that the Fed was being changed to 2.5 inches at the sides and 2.75 inches font/back? And that that was more accurate, no?

The info on the main site is the official measurements as supplied by Richard Swales at HJ back in the day, and the answer to the question of this thread.

As to the Federation, that's another discussion all together.

We shall see, I have a Camptown FM 1936, cut to, "Official," (2 7/8 by 2 3/4) specs in the pipeline and a, "new" Fed on the way. I forgot the millimeter measure on the new fed, but it worked out to a hare (pun intended) less than 2 3/4 inches by spot on 2 1/2 inches.

And just to make things murkier, the Art Fawcett, "Hoosier," is 2 3/4 by 2 1/2 inches

The Magnoli AB/HJ has a 2 7/8 by 2 3/4 brim, based on the dimensions of an original Raiders hat in the Lucasfilm archives, I believe. The actual screen-used dimensions may have varied, however, as did the dimensions of the brims on the hats HJ used to send to us.
