does Wested sell an off-the-peg 44 Long?

Post by AVbat »

Just as the topics says. I just got a ROLA standard size 44 but it is a bit short in the midsection and the sleeves, so i wondered if they sold a 44 Long for the same price?

Did you take a look at the Wested website?.

It took me all of 10 seconds on the Wested site to find the answer to this
question.

Try doing a search of your own. You may broaden your outlook...

I was looking for the same answer yesterday and didn't get a full answer. If you go to the page for the standard jacket it just lets you choose the regular size. It doesn't give you any way to choose whether you want long. But if you look at the custom page it lists their standard sizes and longs are included. Do you need to add it in the comments when ordering?

Did you actually look at the link at the top of the Indy Jacket page
that is labeled "Sizing"?

Here it is: http://www.indyjacket.co.uk/frsizing.html

If you look across the row that is labeled "Size (Chest)", you will find your answer.

Its not under any custom part of the site, its not hard to find, and its
only two clicks to get there.

Do this. Go to the main site, and click the "Click here for the Indiana
Jones Jacket" link.

Then, at the top of that page, click the "Sizing" link.

Zip, zip, ha, ha, you have found it.

OR, if your lazy, just click the link I provided so you only have to do
one click instead of two on your own. I know its hard, but its worth it.

Why so sarcastic Flathead?

Yes, I looked at that page. It clearly lists longs in their standard sizes. But they also tell you to go to the Wested.com site for ordering off-the-peg. When you are on that page there is no way to say that you want the jacket in long. (See link below.) They are not clear about it. I'm not ready to purchase a jacket yet so I didn't investigate further. But when someone else asked the same question I only wanted to point out that he wasn't the only one to have that question.

BTW the links at the bottom don't seem to work, only the top, or maybe its just with Firefox.

I have been curious about this same question, the answer isn't as obvious as Flathead makes it seem. Since that sizing chart is on the custom website and the standard wested website doesn't show long sizes in the drop down box, I'm thinking that they don't. The only way to know for sure is to call Peter and ask.
AVbat would you mind giving a few measurements from your jacket?

I emailed them about a 42L. Gemma got back to me pretty quick and said that it depended on what leather I wanted. Sometimes they do have longs, and sometimes they don't. They can always make one for you, but only they will know if one is ready to go right now.

Wested does a pretty good job maintaining their website, considering how often they make minor changes to their product. You might want to double check it:

http://www.indyjacket.co.uk/home.html

But I'll save you some trouble. Right now, the exchange rate puts it at $328.52 (expect to pay extra if you start making all sorts of specific requests).

I asked about getting a 48L HH. Gemma informed me that they do not have HH in any size. They are all custom made. It might be different if you go to the shop, but since I live in Japan that is not an option.

I just clicked on the link here at work, and its fine. It takes you right to
the Wested Sizing page.

I also had my co-workers try it, and it worked fine for them.

Perhaps you have a pop up blocker turned on on your web browser?

Sarcastic? Perhaps. But the information is there if you take the time
to look for it.

Also, if you put the words "Wested, Size, Long" in the search of this
website, a ton of info comes up about it. That also takes less than 10
seconds.

The information is there for anyone who wants to find it.

The easiest way to find out if any vendor has YOUR size, is to ASK them.
How simple is that?

The folks at Wested are nice people, and as can be seen by the people who actually
did the work and asked, they recieved a very nice reply about what is
and what is not available.

And, if they don't have a your size available at this moment, you can always
have them make you one, which will cost you 20 pounds more, but
its well worth it, as you can also get all the other measurements made to
fit you right the first time, instead of having sleeves that might be too long,
or a back length that is too short if you get the off the shelf jacket.

It really is worth the extra 20 pounds or so to get a custom made jacket
that is made to fit YOU.

Hey Luke, could you post the measurements of your Long Wested- sleeve length, and back length, please? Oh, and pics would rock!

Yeah I'd like to see how Luke's jacket's measurements compare to the sizing guide on Wested's site. Only thing that bothers me is the 27 inches in length for a Wested 44L. Seems like it would be short for me, 6'3"

Sleeve:
from collar seam to cuff: 31 inches.
from shoulder seam to cuff: 23 inches.

Back, from collar seam to hem: 25 inches.

Hope that helps.
