Does anyone have any info. on the HJ Poet from Todds Costumes? I haven't really seen much mentioned about them, but they are supposed to be a soft pliable felt and he has some different bashes to choose from. From what I saw they all looked really good.

Anyone own one or know much about Todd?

Any photos would be nice for comparison.

Ok, first of all, it's not the AB hat. It's the AB HJ. The AB hat is what you'll find if you look yonder: http://www.adventurebilt.com/

Second of all, a Poet is a Poet. She asked about a certain Poet, we informed her of where she could get a better version of the same hat for a smaller amount of money. AND she seemed to have no problem with it. If you'll notice we did also add our commentaries about the Todd's hat.

I've seen situations where it's gotten bad - situations where somebody asked about a Federation and was badgered to get an Adventurebilt when they really didn't want to spend that much money. This is not that situation, or even one remotely like it. Instead of asking her to pay 2-3 times the amount of money for a different hat, we advised her of a better source for the same brand name that actually costs LESS than the one she asked about. AND we added comments about the hat she asked about. I'm sorry, but I'm going to support the product I think is best, especially when it's cheaper, better and more Screen-accurate. :junior: -M

Maybe it all boils down to the style they're lookin for. Magnoli would be the best for raiders, but what about ToD or LC?

I thank everyone for the help, this forum is the best I've been on for Indy gear. As far as my bash preference it's ROTLA all the way although I don't mind the TOD crease either...LC is a little too short brimmed for my taste, but I like the pinch in front.

If I could get a LC pinch with ROTLA or TOD brim that would look pretty nice...screen accuracy aside.

I don't know if you can get something that specific from Magnoli, though I'm sure he can have it done for you. If you want something that melds two films or all three films together then maybe you might consider getting a custom hat, something like what Peters Brothers or Adventurebilt offers. I know you were asking about Herbert Johnson but if you want something like a LC pinch and a Raiders brim and a ToD bash then go custom. It might even be cheaper.

Steve can make the hat (the Mag HJ that is) to look however you want it to look. All you need to do is ask. That and don't forget to send pics to have it fitted to your features.
