Regular AdventureBilt or Deluxe Adventurebilt?

Post by TonyRush »

Mulceber provided a great answer to a question I asked on another thread but -- because my question about the Deluxe AB was a little offtopic -- I thought I'd post it again here.

Do any of you have experience or information with the difference between the Deluxe Adventurebilt hat (http://www.adventurebiltdeluxe.com) and the regular AB (http://www.adventurebilthats.com)?

Many thanks to Mulceber who offered his opinion on the question earlier. Anyone else?

I'm off to Italy on Wednesday and would like to pull the trigger on this order before I leave. (I'm thinking about grabbing some Aldens and having them overnighted on Monday so I can take 'em with me to Rome.) Might have some questions about that in the other section as well.

I have have both. You really can't go wrong with either. The AB line is simple the best.

Hello

You can search the forums here and you'll find answers to that question, but the long and short of it is,
AB made in US By Steve Delk with US Made Beaver Felt
AB Dlx made in Germany by Marc Kitter with Special order Beaver felt from Portugal(If I'm not mistaken and with roo hide head band)
Both GREAT hats that are more than worth the $$ (hope to own one someday :P ) Dlx just has TOP OF THE LINE material and may have a shorter lead time. BOTH Steve and Marc were involved in the new film... so to DLX or not to DLX is a matter of how much can you fund and do you want the highest quality. Hope I am accurate on this and I hope it helps.

Cheers

Just curious, is there any difference with the grit used on the Deluxe and Regular AB? I know the deluxe is 2000 grit, is the same used on the regular or is this another special refinement for the deluxe? I imagine it is a feature of the deluxe. If so, just curious what grit is used on the regular.

Thanks,

Rex

It's probably the same method for Steve as well.

IndianaSolo,

Thanks but that's where I got the 2000 grit number. I just was wondering if that was another feature limited to the deluxe.

Ok, thanks guys,

It reads, "Ok, let's see... What is the same on the AB and the AB-Dlx. is the brand, the fanatism of the maker Laughing, the ribbon and on the CS Fedoras the block".

It also states again that the Deluxe is done with 2000 grit. So, I can infer the regular is a little less.
