I have been wearing my Work America boots for the last couple of days and was wondering about other Indy boots comfort levels. I have noticed that the stiffness of these work boots are because they are work boots. I have been trying to soften up the leather to make it more pliable for everyday wearing.

I have noticed that regardless of how loose I tie up the laces I still get the uppers edge rubbing into the lower calves and shins. Weight wise they are clunky but that takes getting used to.

Wearing them for out of the box for six hours at Wizard World definitely caused aches and pains as well as blisters. Saving up for a set of Aldens but definitely will not destroy them.

What is the comfort on your Indy boots for both Alden wearers and Close Enough brands? Weight? What is the longest you've worn them in or out of Indy gear? : : :

I bought my first and ony pair of Aldens about two years ago, and they are EXTREMELY comfortable. They are possibly the best shoes I've ever purchased. I went on a week long trip to New York in October, and my regular tennis shoes were giving me blisters from all of that walking. So I just popped on my Aldens, and my feet thanked me immediately. They did need to be broken in if I recall correctly, but after that they were fantastic. They are a little heavy, though, but no more heavy than a standard work boot. Hope this helps!

Alden 405s are the most comfortable lace up shoe/boot I have ever worn...right out of the box. Virtually no break in period for me.
(I say "lace up" because my Vans slip ons are pretty close!)

Honestly, it is a toss-up between my Aldens and the J. Crew Ruggeds I bought a few years ago. I've worn them both extensively, but maybe the break-in factor of the Aldens is higher than I expected, because sometimes I prefer my Ruggeds.

How about Magnoli's Adventure Boots? How do they compare to the Alden's in terms of comfort?
