Wrist loop with a Turk's head...

Hello again.
Well, I can tie a pretty mean Turkshead knot now. I've completed the rest of a beautiful whip that i'm ready to reveal to the world at large, but for one thing.
I can't get the placement of the wrist loop right in the Turkshead.
I'm braiding the knot on a mandrel, and I think it'll have to be a 4-pass knot to work, as the three-pass I just tied just didn't cover. The ball is 1 1/2" in diameter, and I'm using flat nylon lace, which ends up being 3/16" wide.
I'm pulling the knot off the mandrel and inserting the wrist loop into natural breaks in the Turkshead, but when I tighten the knot up, I inevitably end up with either an off-center wrist loop, or one that's crushed together in some way that isn't natural.
This is all that stands in the way of my finest whip ever!!!
