Hey Gearheads :)

I was just on one of my favorite sites www.thickgeek.com, stumbled upon this interesting find:

Now, it doesn't look EXACTLY like the mk 7 gas mask bag that indy usually carries around, but i think it has that "look"...but way bigger and very functional!

Obviously the huge art work on the front would need to be taken off some how but i think it could work as an Indy-esque messanger bag..and it's reasonably priced! $39.99 bucks!

I just picked up a french messenger type bag today for about 12.95 that has a leather strap and is completely leather lined inside except for the flap, and it hangs about where Indy's would on my hip. I have a Magnoli MK VII bag on the way but this was such an interesting find with the strap and being leather lined I couldn't pass it up! I'll try to post pics later.

I kind of like the Thinkgeek bag, from what I can see of it. I'd love to find out how long that strap can adust to. I prefer a non-leather strap when I can get it.

Here is a link to pics of the French military messenger bag I picked up the other day. Like I said, even though I have a Magnoli bag on the way I just couldn't pass it up. I have a long walk from the parking lot where I work and this keeps my stuff from getting wet when it rains! It has come in very handy this week here in the Midwest! I have already gotten all kinds of compliments on it and of course one loser with the whole, "Is that a purse?" thing. Lol!

Yeah, I don't get why people always make the correlation. I mean Jack freaking Bauer wore a shoulder bag cuz it was the best thing to use. And if Jack Bauer and Indiana Jones wear it, then by gosh it's manly.

This style seems to be really popular at the moment! I've seen heaps of the trendy kids at my university (in Australia) toting bags similar to these.

Went by yesterday evening and they didn't have any left. I thought I got the only one but wasn't sure. She had the bag that this post was started about and a few map case bags built like the courier bag I bought. She told me to check back and she should get some more at some point she thought. I'll try to keep an eye out for you genphideaux.

The problem with my Mark VII is that it really does work better as a purse than a gear bag. (Sorry guys!) There just isn't that much room. A messenger bag or some other large bag is more practical for a briefcase, but then you open up the whole over or under the jacket thing. I like that Halo 3 bag, but the logo would have to go.
I'd like to see a pic of Wraith's French bag. The link does not work for me.
