Best Indy STYLE bang for buck everyday jacket

Post by IndianaSolo »

Hiya fellas,

The fedora is probably my biggest concern regarding SA wear, but for I jacket I'd like to know what can I get that looks somewhat like an indy jacket, will last probably as long Indiana Jones has had the same jacket, take a fair amount of beating, and still look good even when Im not aiming for an Indiana jones look.

I've heard US Wings and Wested are top choices. Im looking at $200-400 and long term quality for everyday wear.

Thanks guys

I don't wish to be rude but this post in unnecessary. Just do the research. It's all there already and pretty easy to find. Besides this is finally down to opinion. Just read on each jacket, factor in the cost and decide. _ and Michaelson have pretty good posts on this.

Cheers

hey..yes I only have westeds for now.and I love them...

and guess what I am getting tomorow gang!!!......my long awaited HIGHLY detailed Magnoli LC jacket :D Finally!! \:D/

but if you want a very durable jacket then the lambskin jacket isnt the best choice.it's tuff dont get me wrong but I had my accident with my lambskin before.but the jacket that has good draping to it and very tuff I'd say go for the goat.it's really feels like you can go on Indy adventures to the max with it

here is a link to my new goat that I got last week

Hey Holt, you sure have alot of jackets! It seems like you're getting one each week! Lol! So you had Magnoli make you a LC jacket? Did he age it like Harrison's in LC and all that? That would be pretty cool.

By the way, has anybody ever gotten the Wested pre-distressed leather for a jacket? If you know of someone who has, or if you have one yourself, tell me about it, please. Thanks

Once again, Congrats Holt!

thanks!

well to be honest I dont have that much jackets as it seemes.
My Magnoli was my first indy jacket ever ordered ,and finally I got it.I checked with the id track number and it's just been sendt out thru customs

I expect it tomorow

no it's not aged and distressed like the film jacket.this will ne my everyday jacket since it's made with my specs,so the fit will be the awsomest of them all I think?

I'll post a new thread soon about my M

A Wested Raiders in Goatskin. Mine has held up fine for nearly 3 years now with everyday use. The fit is great and the goatskin is tough as nails.

I'd say a G&B Expedition. Too many complaints for Wested. Besides they don't answer their emails.

If you are looking to pay a little more, then I do agree that the GB is the best choice. Tough as nails and very nice jackets, from the ones I have handled.

...? I've emailed them 3 times in a week about petty little concerns, and Gemma has answered me the next business day each time! - Maybe have an email problem, ie- it's getting spam filtered?

Its not in my AOL spam folder. I sent them 4 questions (one through ebay) and they got back to one.
