I'm thinking that's the Babelfish translation engine at work.

I Googled the (presumably) company and they make what looks like high end fashion clothes. Perhaps they're claiming to have produced the jacket or are offering a licensed replica?

The licensed ones should be popping up soon, I'd think

Belstaff is a clothing company that makes leather jackets, but as for the question it looks like a computer translator buggered up what he was trying to say.
I've had some pretty funny experiences with online translators - I was once trying to translate a sentence from Spanish into English for an employee's review and the translator came back with something about dwarves and tree branches  - I laughed out loud :rolling: in the middle of a quiet office, 8-[ then of course had to explain to all my co-workers what was so funny...
Computer translators - very dangerous - you go first...

They not only make jackets, but the shoes, shirts, and almost all fashion accessories including the I Am Legend shoulder bag. As far as jackets...

More importantly, Belstaff is an English/Italian company that makes jackets from everyone's favorite movies such as Batman Begins (Kevin Spacey), Breaking and Entering (Jude Law), Eastern Promises (Naomi Watts), Four Brothers (Mark Wahlberg), I Am Legend (Will Smith), I'm Not There (Heath Ledger), Mission: Impossible 3 (Tom Cruise), Outlaw (Sean Bean), Penelope (Reese Witherspoon), Stormbreaker (Alex Pettyfer and Ewan McGreggor) , The Departed (Leonardo DiCaprio), War of the Worlds (official licensed Hero jacket), Wild Hogs (William Macy), X-Men: The Last Stand (James Marsden / Cyclops), Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp), etc.

Plan on spending about anywhere from $800 -$1600 USD for a new Belstaff jacket. Often the retired styles - especially the leather styles - can command even more. I have a War or the Worlds jacket from Belstaff and it rocks. But there are versions of this jacket that are rare (usually different color schemes) and sell for over $2,000USD. I am glad they did not make the Indy 4 jacket...

Belstaff is opening a store in New York in the fall.

Trust me

i've got 3 of these puppies....very nice jackets and well made. i don't think i'd be able to stand having them make indy's jacket considering:

1. harrison ford is not shaped like a pencil.....belstaff's are cut very "italian"
2. i don't want to pay $2K for a KOTCS jacket
3. they wouldn't fair too well in the midst of wested, todd, and us wings who are all proven vendors of the jacket.

my 2 cents (which i should keep because i'm still making payments on these #### jackets!!!!)

No problem. My trouble was in determining what the heck you were asking, or telling us, as I have never even HEARD of Belstaff, let alone in connection with any Indy film licensing talks.

Your English is better than some folks who call it their native tongue, so don't worry!

belstaff is advertising kotcs pics and the trailer but no mention of what product they are placing in the movie......i thought it could have been the duffle bag but it doesn't seem to match up with any of the bags from the canvas collection......as far as i can tell.........

Belstaff has never made an Indiana Jones jacket. The biker jacket Mutt wears is the same pattern Nowak used for Arnold in T3....

You are barking up the wrong tree, my friend...
are you sure? the biker jacket arnold has in t 3 looks different ! it looks more like the jacket also seen in Robocop.Image

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something for Kate Blanchett, or perhaps Ray Winstone. They've got a shop about three minutes walk form my office in Manchester though, so when we find out I can go and investigate!

I knew that Belstaff made Motor Jackets when they were a British company and you can still find some of these jackets on line from the UK. Most are 3/4 length touring jackets. Very well made and will last a loonnnggg time. I think they moved into the high-end movie jacket buisness a while back when they were sold to an Italian company. The jacket worn by Will Smith in "I Am Legend" is a Bellstaff, but all the tags and outside labels have been removed. As a matter of fact, everything he is wearing is Belstaff (shirt, pants, the bag).

exactly :) but also it has made things for many, many other films..for that one it would not astonish to me if it made also the jacket of Indy!

I fail to see why the production would settle on a British manufacturer other than Wested when one of the main reasons they supposedly went with Nowak was because he was based right in L.A.

:?: Nobody is disputing this as it is well known. My question is, "What does _ know that we do not know?" :D

I know Bates made a Terminator 3 prototype jacket as well, but Nowak got the contract that time. It may be that Nowak made a T2 jacket but the contract went to Bates for the second movie. Who knows? That style jacket is on Nowak's site as you can see here:

The site is in dire need of repair/development as most of the links do not function.

Hey Mike,

that is one very cool jacket! It definitely suits you very well.
I love the Cafe Racer style and have two nice ones -- one from Aero and another from Schott.
