Visit to Cockpit Retail Store

Last week I was in NYC and had a little time to kill so I visited the retail store of The Cockpit (used to be Avirex). I had a chance to try on some of their jackets: G-1, A-2, Type 440. Great stuff.
Their Type 440 had what had to be THE thicket goatskin I have ever seen on a flight jacket. Built like a tank. Impressive.
My favorite, however, was their A-2 Horsehide in russet. Great jacket, great craftsmanship.

great place and friendly staff. excellent selection of avirex jackets....ended up buying some nice shearling gloves as it was so darn cold at the time. one of the highlights of my new york trip
