Adventurebilt: great hats, better men

The laudatory and contratulatory posts and threads on Adventurebilt hats are legion, and one more is hardly necessary. But I wanted to offer my own thanks to Steve and Marc for what I've received from them, which is to say, fantastic hats and tremendous service. I believe very firmly in acknowledging good service when you get it, so here's my two cents on the men behind Adventurebilt Hat Co. and the products they offer.
My standard Adventurebilt is almost two years old now, and it is quite simply a terrific hat. It was purchased well before Steve became inundated with IJ4 work and the new orders that followed, and he was always responsive to my inquiries and friendly throughout the process. Also, while I ordered a second hat from him, I had to cancel it late in the day due to financial issues. He took that in complete stride and was very gracious about the whole thing, even though the hat had already been made. That said a lot to me about who he is (above and beyond the fact that he started making and selling hats basically as a favor to his fellow fans).
As for Marc... well, only yesterday did I receive my Adventurebilt Deluxe. Whoa, nelly, what a hat! If you have not seen one of these masterpieces, you must make arrangements to beg, borrow, steal, or (better yet) buy one. The felt is so dense, soft, and smooth it has to be felt (ahem) to be believed. The quality of construction and attention to detail are absolutely topnotch. I just can't imagine a better hat than this one.
Further, Marc was extremely friendly, patient and generous with his time and attention throughout the duration of my wait. I can't even estimate the number of my emails he had to respond to, some of which were in retrospect a little on the frivolous side. But he never lost patience with me, and never failed to respond, despite his own ridiculously hectic schedule.
With respect to Marc, let me also urge you all in the strongest possible terms to BUY AN ADVENTUREBILT DELUXE. Yes, they are a little pricey. They take a little while to get. But they are also phenomenal hats that you will count yourself lucky to own. Further, I understand that Marc wants to be a full-time hatter and leave his day job behind. If we can help him realize that dream, we will in turn give back something to someone who has done a #### of a lot for this hobby. (Hats, holsters, and shirts anyone?) Buy a Deluxe, get yourself a terrific hat, and help a great guy out along the way. That's what you call a win-win.
So, for what it's worth, I offer my thanks to Steve and Marc for my hats and the great work they did.
Cheers guys,
Matt H.
