Bullwhip of Montana Maxwell and Indiana Jones Jr. Jr.

Post by hollywood1340 »

When I stared with whips I didn't know where to get them, so I made them. I went by either Montana Maxwell (Monte) or Indiana Jones Jr. Jr. (I Figured the Jr. was already taken, better safe then sorry) Started with a rope, covered it in electrical tape (Looked like leather to me) and called it good. The thing is I got pretty good with these whips. I could crack them pretty well and they would wrap on a good day. But that was almost twenty years ago. But I've wondered if I still got it. So here is Ver. 2.0 of this whip

It's built just like a leather whip. The handle is based around an 8" bolt, it has two "bolsters" a reinforced transition, and it even tapers! It starts with two ropes, one heavier then the other, and I drop one 2/3 down the thong. From there I've dropped it from three strands to two at at the popper, and that drops to one at the cracker. The balence is suprisingly good and it rolls out decently for a true rope core whip. I was going to try for an aussie style fall and cracker but I didn't get very far with that. I finished the handle in a patriotic theme.

This whip is for sale. I don't know what it's worth, but took about five hours to do and $20 in materials. It's a very unique whip and truely a piece of whip history. Okay maybe not but it would be worthy of any collection. Okay maybe not either, but the unique part is true. The whip is easy to maintain and you can change the color yourself!

That “bullwhip” would go great with the famous duct tape Indy fedora!
