I bought my Wested Raiders jacket not even a full year ago and of course I wear it everywhere, the suede lining is starting to frey on the back two seams of the inside of the back panel. Kinda hard to describe, but I would appreciate any ideas on preventing any further problem to this area.

I think you should contact Wested. They'll know, what to do.

My original lining was Westeds old style satin lining. It wore very badly. Several holes in less than a year. I had Wested replace it with cotton in the body and a much stronger satin in the sleeves. It's great! You say your lining is suede? I'm not sure anyone has ever mentioned suede lining in a Wested. Are you sure that's what it is?

Eventually you will just have to have it replaced by wested... not sure how much the cost it... BUt if you live in the US the shipping is whats going to killl you.. YOu could almost buy a new jacket for the combined amount of shipping to and from and the repair.

My Wested started to do that too. After the first 6 months of owning it, it has since stopped. It gives it a little bit of lived in look.

You say your lining is suede? I'm not sure anyone has ever mentioned suede lining in a Wested. Are you sure that's what it is?

Yeah I originally was under the impression that the suede would be more accurate to the original. Apparently I should have bought one that would have been more durable. At least the material hasn't pulled away from the seams.

I'll definitely give Wested a call or email to see what they suggest. Another Wested would be nice, but I guess I'd better pay the rent first. Thanks for all the help though. I've been watching the forum for some time and just figured I had a good enough question to ask.

I was under the impression when I ordered last week that it was only satin or cotton. Please let us know more about the suede lining if that is the case. Thanks!

Wait a TICK!! SUEDE? If you do actually have suede lining (which I think is first) how could it only wear out in a year? Wow and that jacket must be hard to take on and off....And very warm and extra HEAVY also!

I'm sorry, I got the two words up. It is satin, not suede. Sorry about the mix up.

Now that I think of it suede would be a pretty heavy duty lining and hot as heck.
