This is a follow up poll to my previous topic "Legal Carry - Barrel Plug and Dummy Rounds".
Please let us know what you carry in your holster whenever you are in public wearing your full Indy gear. Also leave any comments regarding public reaction to your holster and/or firearm.
Really curious to see what others do out there in the real world!!
Thanks!!

This is a weird question for me, because for most of my life, I have carried a real gun in a holster on a daily basis. It was a job requirement.
On the occasion that I am in FULL Indy gear, it is the only time that the gun I carry is not real. On those occasions, I carry an exact replica of Indy's gun that was made by Artsee1.

I don't carry anything in my holster..... I'd hate to get shot over a fake gun.

I don't wear my holster in "public". I do wear it around the farm with a fully loaded Smith and Wesson reissue M1917, .45 ACP with either hollow points or shot shells. Lots of pesky coyotes, rattlers, and poachers around these parts!

Mainly wear the loaded gun when gold nugget detecting in the middle of nowhere, like Northern Nevada.

what no option if we carry a banana in our holster?
anyway yeah out in public i would not wear a holster because lets face it people are going to look at it and panic.
now if i'm actually out in the forest or a jungle or out in the desert and i'm in a place that i may need it, i carry my 1911 as i have still yet to get a 1917.

Most of the time I will don my Full Indy costume, it will be for a costume contest at work or a social club. The holster will be empty. I can, and have dressed in my most of my Indy gear, that is, everything but without the gunbelt and holster, on normal work days. I don't feel any less Indy without the gunbelt and Artsee1 prop piece.

I keep it empty, or put my cell phone in there!! It's difficult to get into your pockets sometimes with the bullwhip / MkVII over the left one, and the holster over the right one. So I can put the cell phone in the holster to get it out easily.

Hey, there's no option for, "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I don't have a holster yet."
But if I did get one, I wouldn't put a gun in it if I was just walking around with it in public. I doubt I would wear one in public anyway unless I was at Indy 4 opening night or I was on some real adventure.

Minneapolis here just passed a law on carrying resin/replica handguns in public (it's now a no-no). So no, I don't do it. Empty is fine. Besides again, for ToD, it's screen accurate to NOT carry...
Sometimes I've put my cellphone in it thou.

All we need now is someone to make a cellphone that looks like a Webley!!
It sure would look interesting when answering a call!!

I couldn't resist doctoring up an airsoft FBI into a more realistic firearm for Indy wear. Fits Todd's holster perfectly! Plus, I have a carry permit. I would never "brandish" it in public though!

On the rare occasion I do wear full gear into public, I go with a loaded firearm. I have my concealed carry permit and usually carry some sort of firearm, so this is no different for me.

That is true. Concealed carry in PA means "concealed" carry.

Some states allow carry, open and concealed, without a permit.
Some states have a "permit to carry" which is required whether the weapon is carried openly or concealed.
Some states allow open carry without a permit but require one for concealed.
Some don't allow open carry at all, but do allow permitted concealed carry.
Then there are the conditional circumstances some take into account, like while outdoor recreating.
Carry laws are
fun...

I guess 'not in public' would fill the bill for now.

Same in Tennessee. That is open carry. Concealed means out of sight, and without the knowledge of anyone around you.
You better be careful doing that, Indiana, and double check your CCP laws in your State again. You may be carrying illegally if you're carrying a loaded revolver in public in an exposed holster.
Ok, back to topic!
