I got it last week and have done a couple of things to it.
I'm happy with the fit.
I took out the shoulder pads, added a little distressing and traded the D-rings for tri-glides.

Hi,
Nice job.

Are the triglides metal?
Where did you find them?

Yeah, Chris, it looks good- and importantly- it suits you!
Well done!

Did you take the shoulder pads out yourself or get a tailor to do it?

D-rings for rectangular loops I understand. What's to keep your straps from slipping right through that plastic buckle? :-k

Looks great. I really think the cut of the sleeves on this jacket look especially good. Of course I'm bias since I own the same jacket.

Anyway have you had any issue with your sleeve lining creeping past the sleeve since the pad-ectomy? I'm having a slight issue with this and I'm experimenting with putting a few tack stitches to keep the sleeve lining from ridding lower at the shoulder than it did with the pads.

looks great.congrats..

whait until you have it soaked wet cause of rain or whatever...maby let it hit the shower one time and let it dry up wrinkly...it will add so much more character to your jacket...trust me....

the jacket looks great!!! :D

Not rectangular loops, triglides. They are like the loops with a bar in the center and the tension holds the strap in place really good.

I took out the pads myself, I have some sewing experience. There is a small strip of fabric that is attached between the shoulder seam of the lining and the leather and if that is cut the lining will definatly slide down the arm.

Phil

The jacket looks great, how did you weather the jacket, I have the same Jacket too.

I gave the jacket a good wipe down with rubbing alcohol, enough to see color starting to lift off and let it dry for a day. Then used a white scrubbing pad, it's less abressave than the green scotchbrite ones, to lighten it up more.

I know the difference. What I meant was that it doesn’t seem like a plastic triglide would work. Also the Raiders jacket that was examined had rectangular loops. The argument for a triglide has been based on blown up fuzzy pictures. If you are saying “screw it, I like the triglide period”, then I hear you. Cheers

Sorry, I misunderstood your first comment. Yes, I kinda like the triglides better, mostly because the strap faces back wards and only passes through the buckle once. It holds very well, way better than the D-rings.
