Any of you guys that have the Wested pants with the button fly have problems with the buttons staying buttoned? I was thinking of going to a tailor to see about putting in a zipper. Trying to wrangle those buttons is no joke especially after a few shots of Jameson.

I added a couple of stitches to the button holes. The fly manages to stay buttoned up better than when I first received them.

Yea, some folks might get the wrong impression. haha.

No kidding, I have had this happen for some odd reason a number of time, luckily no one has caught it, Maybe I need to sew up a couple stiches on mine too. Sounds like a great idea. Just is kind of embarassing to have that happen to you. Maybe Wested needs to do something about this?

For real, you can tell just by looking at it that the buttons are way too small for the holes.....Maybe thats just how the English do it. lol.

That is a good one, I own a pair of Westeds and it always seems of the buttons can come undone somehow. Usually it is the ones that are first buttoned(ones further away from the waist). Well I am going to stitch it up some to keep this from happening. Its not only annoying it kind of embarassing if people were to notice.

I had a slight problem with the last button or bottom one where it sometimes would come undone, but I just made sure it was fully latched...kinda give it a stretch when latched and that did the trick.

Does any one have an issue with the stiching that is between the button holes? Is that screen accurate to a fault? I find it cumbersome to have to find each button hole separately and then make sure the button is ALL the way through the hole.

Once buttoned, though, I don't think I've had a problem with the buttons coming undone.

I know what you're talking about, it is kind of irritating. I'm really thinking about having a tailor put in a zipper, just for convenience. Even if it's not SA....not many people want to check out the fly anyway. haha.

Kinda "on topic", how accurate is the colouring of the Wested pants? I really can't tell from the pics on the website....

How do they feel on? Comfy or kinda stiff/military style?

The color is pretty accurate in my opinion....of course you'll probably get 35 different opinions.

The material is pretty thick, so I wouldnt wear them in warm weather, overall I found them pretty comfortable. They aren't stiff, quite the opposite.

The color of my Wested pants meets my expectations. I guess color, like any other aspect of SA is a slippery creature to capture.

In fact other than the too large button fly holes, I'm very pleased with all aspects of my Wested pants.

Do the Wested pants fit like ordinary dress pants? Or would you recommend going a size smaller, or larger, etc.?

My fit was bang on with waist and inseam. Some will find they are happier with some tailoring, but it should be more of a "nice to have" than a "need to have".

I can't help you with the fit....My brother ordered two pairs and gave me one, so I had mine tailor fit. They are really nice pants though, I've worn them quite a bit.

Looking at everyone's pics of there Wested pants, it seems like the color they have on their site is radically different. It's actually one of the reasons I was looking at L.L. Bean chinos (also the price). So do they give you a variety of color options? And how do the LL Beans stack up? They lok like a good pair of pants, but accuracy is key as always.[/list]

I also thought if they want to sell more they should get more accurately colored photos of their pants.

That's what my apprehension has been...they just don't look "right", imo.

The pic with the boots is really cool. It looks like you have the same gun belt and holster as me as well. I must be in good company.

So, where did the notion that Indy's trousers were button fly come from? I thought that they were based on the old officer's "pinks," and my pinks have a zipper. I recently acquired a pair of Wested trousers, and I must say that the button fly is my only real complaint. Not very convenient for a quick trip to the restroom. I also have found buttons mysteriously undone. Apart from the fly, I really like them. I was just curious what the buttons are based on.

Are those boots Aldens or close enoughs? I only ask because of the color, when my Alden's were new they were the burnt orange color that was awful but as they have aged they have lightened up a lot. Just curious how you got that color.

I was surprised when I saw the button fly....But then I figured since they are supposed to be military pants that it made sense. Every pair of BDU"s I've ever seen has a button fly.

I'd just much rather have a zipper because I know how they come open, so it makes me self-conscious, so I keep checking to be sure the barn door hasn't swung open. Would to scare the ladies. haha.

I got the pants from Wested today, and they fit wonderfully! Judging by the tag, these must be dry clean only, correct?

Also, does the gun belt need to be a tad looser, so you have it just below Indy's regular belt (and therebye showing 2 buckles, one on top of the other)? I want to make sure it looks right.

I always assumed the gun belt was supposed to be a tad loose, just by the way the holster side is lower than the left side. I could be wrong.

And yeah the tag in my pants says "dry clean only".....which *****.

I too, was disappointed in the Dry Clean only tag on my Wested pants. I can't imagine an adventurer needing dry clean only clothing out on a dig or advernture. the pants appear much too tender for that kind of use.

i threwmine in the washer.on a wool program worked out just fine.no shrinking at all
