She's A Beaut!
Hey Gang.
I’m just writing to see how many of you get a “Crocodile Hunter” remark from friends, co-workers or random passer-byes any time you wear your Noel Howard Indy shirt out?
I’m curious, I suppose, because it happens to me a lot. “Hey, I like the shirt.. Very Crocodile Hunter!” Or “Hey, it’s the Crocodile Hunter!” are very common “witty” quips I must sustain throughout any given day in Indy garb.
I guess it’s to be expected, and there’s not much one can do about it. I’d look like a nut case if I were to start to outline the differences between the two garments to the average Indy, or Croc. Hunter fan for that matter. Still, it kind of ticks me off.
Regards,
Indiana_Jonesing

Not you... A member of the CIA's secret Army in for a briefing, perhaps. Or Commanding officer of the Navy S.E.A.L Team Rainbow Six... maybe. But NOT a Marine prisoner just out of the brig.... never.
[Unless you were put in the cooler for Behavior unbecoming of an officer or enlisted during Liberty... but that would be a different story.]

Maybe it's the shifty eyes and accompanying shackles!
I definitely think that takes the cake as the oddest comment. Oddly enough, I and I wonder if its the area I'm in, but I never get any comments. Though I mostly mix and match gear instead of wearing it all at once, I think people are pretty oblivious to it.

On a hike up Mt. Monadnock, I noticed a woman looking at me. I am not so vain that I think it was for any other reason than her trying to figure out why some idiot was climbing a mountain on a vey hot day wearing a long-sleeved shirt (rolled-up, of course) and felt fedora.
Finally she approached me and said "You probably hear this all the time, but do you know who you remind me of?" I was getting ready to say "Thank you" when she said Indiana Jones, since I thought the MKVII would have tipped her off. But instead she said "Crocodile Dundee!"
My son was there and laughed out loud. I told her that was the first time I heard that one, actually. I have also heard children say, "Look at that man's cowboy hat." They have an excuse though - the children are innocent.
My favorite moment was when a group of teens started singing the Raider's March when I walked past as they were resting. My kids were mortified and I thought it was funny as heck. Even funnier because they were mortified.
I agree with Renderking. I wear the gear for my own enjoyment and if people don't like it, they don't have to look. Or they can make fun of me. I don't care. I have learned to take life a little less seriously in my 40 years.

LMAO!!! That's kind of funny. Well, I can say from personal experience that I received no acknowledgement whatsoever from fellow hikers when I was climbing around Red Rock State Park in Nevada. I did, however, get a few "Indiana Jones"es when I was at the mall during Halloween, but that's to be expected. In fact, I'd be disappointed if I didn't hear that. In any case, I was flattered by it.

Great stuff. I guess I just wanted to see how many other Indy Gear heads out there were mistaken for other people with the gear on – whether it be a shirt, hat or all the stuff at once.
Make no mistake; the occasional comments don’t stop me from wearing the stuff. I love my gear and wear it proudly. But I guess it would be nice for once to hear a “hey, nice shirt, or hat or anything” without having a Croc. Hunter comment tacked onto it. Oddly enough, it’s never Indy that I’m associated with. Which I guess isn’t a big deal; I’m not trying to be Indy. But I’m SURELY not trying to be the Crocodile Hunter either!
Keep ‘em comin’ gang. The responses have produced more than a few laughs.
Regards,

Hey, Dale... Mosey on over to the Ranch and we'll saddle you up one of the stallions and we'll head up for the big herd round up. Then we'll sit around the campfire for a few rounds of "Home on the Range" and we'll have some bourbon and beans for supper.
See you around the corral...
Renderking Fisk and the Coppertop Kid.
Back on Topic There's a fellow here who insist on calling me Bogart. Best complement I got since the "my... what big muscles you have" from my wife during the "Red Riding hood" episode.

I'm sorry Renderking....
....my mind is REALLY messed up today. Your story of us at the campfire eating beans just brought the scene from 'Blazing Saddles' to mind Uh, never mind. I'll TRY to do better today, I really will! High regards. Michaelson

"You throw me Coppertop, I'll throw you a green beer!"
High regards. Michaelson
