My first 'real' hat & a question about Hatsdirect...help

Post by Vaderbreath »

Hello all! I'm a newbie and I ordered my first 'real' hat-an Akubra Fed. I'm just a little concerned because I ordered this hat over three days ago, and have yet to hear a word back from hatsdirect. Is this normal?

I bought a cheaper wool felt, and I thought it was okay, but it's just not real comfortable. I never realized what fun this outfit could be. I'm having a blast and I'm happy to be here! I just wish I would hear something regarding my hat.

you should have gotten an immediate reply email with an order confirmation sent to the email address you gave them on the order page.

I got an order confirmation and number, but it said that they would send me another to confirm other details. I also asked a few questions, but have yet to hear anything in return.

Adtually, as I reread my emails, I never got the email confirming my address or anything else. I've sent three emails with questions and have yet to hear anything. I know my paypal went through, but I thought I would have heard something by now. Is this common with hatsdirect?

Patience, my friend.

3 days ago would mean you ordered it on Friday. They're on the other side of the International Date line, so when you ordered it, it was Saturday there. They rarely answer anything on weekends. Today is Monday, so they're just now getting around to their new orders.

I'd wait until tomorrow or Wednesday before I'd start getting to antsy. They will get back to you....that, or you'll have a better chance getting someone's attention during the time they're usually in shop.

Yup, my experience with hatsdirect has always been very positive.

Bet's are, it's on it's way to you already or being processed, as Michaelson says. :)

I had a similar order just last week. I ordered it on Friday using paypal, and got my confirmation email from Jenny on Monday with tracking information. My Fed was at my doorstep by Friday. In other words what Michaelson said. Their service was excellent. My wife was shocked that it arrived from Austrailia to the US in 4 days.

You know, when I order from them I don't even notice the process anymore. My first experience with them went so smoothly, and the hat arrived about 5 times faster than I hoped for! Now, I just order, take a nap, and open the box... at least, so it seems. And it might take a couple of days to get e-mail responses, but they always come.

Well, I just joined the ranks of purchasing my first fedora. I ordered the Fed from Hatsdirect! I have always thought that fedoras were just an outright slick hat. My grandfather and step-grandfather always wore them and of course Indy, and my idol Ol' Blue Eyes. It begins.....

When I ordered mine, I received an e-mail the next day (order during the sleep time). My Federation Deluxe should be arriving this week.

BTW, my first post. I am a long time Indy fan, owner of a six-year old pair of Aldens. They are now officially broken in. They look real good with business suits. I am just getting the rest of my gear and preparing for the movie by watching the first three with my 10 year old stepson and my three year old daughter.

I asked a question 3 times last week.
They said that sometimes there is a problem
with aol (?). Whatever. They answered my
questions and now I'm waiting for my lid.

Ok, here's what I just heard from Ron:
Hi M,
thanks for the pointer.

We respond to all messages 7 days a week within 24 hours, generally much sooner - if someone has not heard from us then usually something is wrong and they should contact us in case we do not have the e-mail.

If there has been no response from us after 24 hours the customer should get back in touch.
All hats ordered by 2 pm leave the same day unless some additional preparation work has to occur.

We do have problems with customers who forget to tell their spam filters about us or simply have their mail boxes (usually trash) full and so cannot receive mail.

Bottom line if you have not heard from us in 24 hours it is likely the cyberspace is playing up in some way!

cheers, Ron
So, if you HAVEN'T heard from them, you best shake rattle them up again, based on what he says above!

Well, I finally received an email stating that they had emailed me several times...yet not one showed up. I checked my spam filters and nothing. I'm not questioning them, but it is weird that this was the first one I've actually received. They were still needing my hat size. I am on aol, so maybe that has something to do with it.

It is amazing how servers, email address, and all that can get so muddled. Sometime my yahoo account filters out email from family members as junk... at random, no less! And sometimes messages just don't get where they were going at all. Lousy Gremlins![/b]

Well, we got it all straightened out. Things just got lost in cyberspace. Now, I can get back to working on the rest of this costume!
