I made mine
(and it shows). For materials, I scoured thrift stores for a leather item that I could slice up. I found a Naugahyde handbag for $1, a template online, and a friend with an industrial sewing machine.
The results aren't the best, but it serves its purpose.

There is an army surplus store close to the 110 and 91 freeways. They sometimes sell a scrape bag of assorted leather pieces and straps. I have bought a bag and it's been great for all kinds of assorted projects. Used it to make a whip holder. The leather pieces may be big enough for a Webley style holster. The bag runs $10.00 if I remember correctly.
I'm out of town for the weekend but when I get back I'll try to find the name of the place and also I can measure the size of the piece of leather that comes in the bag. I'll let you.

go to
www.tandyleatherfactory.com
They list the larger leather factory stores on their website. There is one in Baldwin Park off of the 60 freeway. Difficult to locate without good directions. However, not a strip mall store. More of a warehouse with hides, dye, thread, tools etc. You should find most everything from one of the older Leather factory warehouse stores.
Just a small bit of advice before getting into the holster business. By the time you collect all of the neccesary items (tools, leather, etc.) to make a few items for your costume, you would be money ahead to purchase these goods from established makers of such items. Hides are large and expensive, and there are many tools required to do a nice job.
My girlfriend wants to make shoes and buy all the tools she needs to assemble them, and then use my labor to help her produce them. For this reason I will always make sure she has the shoes she wants, and glady buy them for her. Now if I could just get her to wear some gun leather a little more often......
