Denim Wested vs. Leather Wested

I received the denim Raiders for Christmas this year. I had the sleeves taken in a bit and now it fits great. I'm thinking about sending a couple of measurements from the jacket to Wested for a leather Raiders jacket, but I had some questions. Is the denim Raiders standard cut? If it is, I may stick with a standard cut Raiders. An 80's cut may be a little tight. Also, now that my sleeves are the right length, should I send in those measurements or a little longer to compensate for wrinkling? And, I like the standard length of the jacket. Do I need to make any specifications for that when ordering? Thanks for any help.

the denim jacket is the Temple specs (1" longer on the waist). Otherwise, it's exactly the same

I measured the sleeves on my denim Indy jacket at 23 1/4 inches. I was thinking about adding another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to compensate for any wrinkling in the sleeves. Does anyone think this is too much? (By the way, I'm leaning towards the horsehide).

Okay, I'm starting to develop a complex here! No one seems to be replying to my threads. Is this a newbie initiation or is it because I'm Filipino?

Yep, it's because you're Filipino...
We figured that out just by your nickname and location (Indiana?) alone!
They suggest that your sleeves reach your thumb knuckle. However many inches that is is up to you though

A denim IJ jacket would be great around here right now.

It might be why I replied
Filipino brothers have to stick together

Well, I measured the sleeves on my denim Wested again and they're closer to 23 inches from the shoulder seam. But I noticed that the shoulder seam is about an inch lower on my shoulder. Should I specify a 24 inch sleeve length in the leather Wested and add 1/4 to 1/2 an inch for "wrinkling"? Or should I leave it at 24 inches?
Also, Peter doesn't ask for shoulder measurements. How will he know where to place the shoulder seam?

I was planning on including extra measurements with my order, such as shoulder (half and full), arm (angled and straight elbow), and sleeve (taken from the base of the neck to the shoulder, to angled elbow, and to the wrist)). Will Peter take these extra measurements into consideration?

The Roltaa is pretty much the same pattern as the denim, if it will fit with adjusted sleeves then that might be your best bet.
If you want a custom then be prepared for a custom charge. The 80's fit is cut differently from scratch, a regular cannot be adjusted after it is made to be 80's, at least not economically so.

I'm probably going to go with a custom jacket with a standard cut body, but I'm still wondering how Peter knows where to put the shoulder seam without shoulder measurements. Should I go ahead and include them when I place my order?

Upon closer inspection, it seems that the sleeves on Indy's jacket hang about an inch off his shoulders (this probably contributes to the "baggy" look). Now, I'm reconsidering sending in my shoulder measurements. Maybe people have been too specific with their jacket orders, which might lead to some discontent with their orders. Just a thought.

Does the Wested denim have hidden handwarmer pockets behind the main outside pockets like Todds jacket?

Thank ye! My Todd's jacket fits well, so I reckon I'll be ordering the same size from Wested.

They're VERY comfortable jackets. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I hope to be, Michaelson! I just ordered mine and had it shipped to my mother's house back home since that's where I'll be in about 11 days! I didn't figure Peter could get it out and to me here in S. Korea (via military mail) before I left on leave, so I just sent it home! haha. Can't wait to get it! I'm starting to build up quite the jacket collection.
