Hey...I am about to wash my wested shirt...but inside the shirt it says dry clean only .....

does everybody take their wested shrit to the drycleaner when they want it cleaned?
or can you wash the shirt in a whasingmachine?

Mine does not specify dry clean only. I've washed mine, but use a delicate cycle and line dry it (or gentle, no heat / air only cycle)

I have to say mine does not specify either.

I have washed it in a regular washing machine however, with no ill effects.

Mine says machine wash and does not say dry clean only. However, mine are older Wested shirts. A production change of material or supplier, may have changed the care methods. I would either follow the instructions on your shirt or contact Wested and inquire about the changes.

I have washed my Wested shirt several times when a dry cleaner was either too long of a wait or outside my budget.

Trick is, wash it in cold water with whatever laundry soap you have, and then hang it up over your bathtub and let it air dry.

I want my Wested Indy shirt to look as wrinkled and worn as possible. I've washed it in hot water and thrown it in the dryer several times (I've only owned it for a couple of weeks). The label says 100% cotton, Dry Clean Only. That's not going to work for me.

I ti want my shirt to look really wrinkeled like harsison has in the cairo scene


what can actually happen to the sirt if whasing it in the machine whenit says dry clean only?
will it shrink?destroy the seams?

Mine didn't shrink, although I wanted it to. The seams don't show any signs of wear. The collar, epaulettes and pockets are nicely wrinkled.
Time will tell how washing and drying in a machine will affect the shirts life span but I suspect it will hold up just fine.

Yes, but do you have an older Wested shirt that says to machine wash or one of these newer ones that recommend dry cleaning only?

washed mine for the first time today....40 degree (acrylic cycle) and it's come out fresh, clean and no hint of shrinkage etc...

I did leave it dry on an airer rather than tumble it (even gently).
