A bit of an Indygear census... 8)

I wonder if we'll get a bell curve...

7 1/2 for me. I guess I have to wait longer for my AB.

For the votes so far, I'm kinda surprised. I would have expected more in the 7 to 7 1/4 range... but I also have no logical basis for that range.

It just goes to show that IndyFans come in all head shapes and sizes.

Dunno...what's bigger than the last one?

I have a PHM (tm) or "Pretty Huge Melon." Back in the day when I called up Richard Swales to order an HJ, I told him my head size. No word of a lie there was a pause and he said, "What?"

Almost a perfect bell curve right now.

Aww, no 7 7/16 option? Makes it hard to find a hat that fits.

A gaussian as usual :P

Hey wait, what if some people have hats of different measures? We can only vote once

7 1/4 for me. Looks like I'm pretty normal! :D

7 3/8 long oval. Fairly common I guess.

Cheers!

I don't know which one I should pick, because I am halfway between a 7 1/2 and 7 5/8. So, I haven't voted, yet. I'll probably have to go with 7 5/8, because it is better to be too big, than too small.

7 1/4

Gaussian but cut off at the higher sizes

Looks like if you make the sizes go up to 64 (is that an 8?) it would be very nearly symmetric.
Cool indeed!
But, as my wife likes to warn me:
"careful you don't peg the geekometer..."

Lock me in with the largest size... Many brains. HA!

Looks to be a pretty good statistical average bell curve there. Anybody else want to add their mellon size to the census? Me, I have a classic 7 3/8. With the Irish half in me I'll be willing to bet I'll be wearing a 7 1/2 in 10 years.

Cheers!

It's hard to say for me. I can wear up to a 7 1/8, but as low as a 6 3/4. I'd say I'm probably either a 6 7/8 round oval or 7 round oval.

7 3/8 here

I must be either a 6 7/8 or a 7. Not sure which. My head measures about 55.5 cm, so I'm not sure whether to go up or down on my next fedora.

Interesting. I presume the vast hat size variety might be related to different manufacturers too.

Cheers!

7 3/4, the largest option.

It's funny, I'm not a large guy, and no one leans out of the way to dodge my misproportioned skull, but here I sit, a guy who wears a 42 reg jacket, has a 36 inch waist line - and a giant HEED!

I'll be cryin' maself ta sleep tanight... on ma huge pilla.
