hey guys i hope to order my wested next week. im trying to get it in time for the opening of KOTCS!

but i will need your help and input please ! sometime back PLATON designed and ordered possibly the greatest wested of all time! see thread below***

viewtopic.php?t=21394&highlight=scalloped

I plan on ordering "THE PLATON" (i hope he doesnt mind!). however im wondering if there are any other final requests I should make to it, to make it "THE" jacket. as discussed in the above mentioned thread people were mentioning a few little things. so I was wondering if you guys think i should incorporate those minor changes to fullfill the ultimate quest for "THE" jacket? I think the point of this forum is for all of us to learn from each others experiences (and i hope you dont mind me taking advantage of all your experiences! this way i hopefully only have to order once)!

also about the zipper....i think someone mentioned that changing the zipper is rather easy...so im hoping to put this off until after I get the jacket, is that something i could put off?

Thanks for reading,

JOA

PS- whats side fasteners should I get to make it the most Raiders accurate?

***PPS-keep in mind the pics from that thread are no longer there but Platon if at all possible can you send them to me or just re-post them (id be much obliged!!!).

Your best bet would be to ask Platon for his advice ;)

Otherwise, I'd go with rectangular sidestraps for a Raiders jacket.

Interesting this is going to be your first and last Wested jacket... you sure??? I got my first and I have already ordered another. :D

If you want you can send Peter the zipper you want used in your jacket that way if your wanting to replace the aluminum zipper its already done and on the jacket. If your going to use Platons specs I hope your jacket size falls into 40-42 category, cause if not those specs don't mean much of anything.

I would ask Platon through PM what is current thought now, I think he posted on here not too long ago that he thought the standard jacket looks more closer to the movie jacket than 80's cut. The 80's cut is slim and trim and looks good on people who are more slim. The 80's cut I have fits well, fits like a glove, but can be just a little tight. Standard cut is going to be more baggy and give you some room. Which one you want is your choice.

The other specs like pocket size, collar, etc he has listed is more in the 40-42 jacket range. So if your in that range then those specs apply to you then. Maybe Platon will chime on in here on this thread, but if your wanting to know his thoughts on it go and PM him. I think the collar meets the middle on the storm flap now, at least it does on mine. Peter has made some of the specs standard, but the thing I would be most concerned about is the pockets. They nail down that you have a pretty nice looking jacket. That is my two cents. Good luck on your order Joeyofarimathea. :)

LOL I don't think Peter has any time (and will) to do that. Anyway with that size the jacket surely will come longer than mine therefore I doubt you will need resized pockets to make them look accurate.
Perhaps a special ROTLA will be good enough? Afterall is very close to my specs isn't it?

My opinion is that you can only get SA if you go for custom.
The offered choices are close but not 100% (my opinion)
