I am getting ready to order a cheap DP for my son (5 yrs old) and I cannot figure out which one to order. He has a size 54 head so he would either wear a kids large or a mens small.
It looks like there are three to choose from on the US Wings site.

Kids non-crushable
Mens non-crushable
Mens crushable
They are all the same price so any of them would work. Which would you recommend and why?
Thanks

I'd go with the noncrushable. I've owned a few dps and the crushable never lasted very long, even for a dp. The noncrushable seem to hold the shape and take a bit more abuse. So I'd go with noncrushable for durability and looks. Well that's my 2 cents.

Also, consider his body proportion to the hat size. He may wear a man's size small, but how tall is he? Will the hat fit, but look proportionally to big on his head?
Same thing in the other direction....is he to tall/wide for the proportions of the kids hat. It may fit, but look small.
It's all in the proportions of hat to entire body and shape.

I didn't think about that. I assumed the proportions would be the same.
