BOIC frames- Raiders - Blonde or Chestnut? Video caps?

Just wondering - On Indygear.com it states that the color of the BOIC eyeglass frames was "Blonde" which is a light brown, as opposed to the "Chestnut" which is a darker brown similar to tortoise shell. How was it determined and what is the proof that it was Blonde?

And does anyone have any Raiders' video still captures or photo scans from the classroom/seminar hall or Imam's house scenes? I guess the classroom and seminar hall scenes would be better to determine color since they are lighted better.

Thanks.

MY opinion - is that the frames are more of a chestnut in lieu of blonde. At least that's what I discovered when I ordered my Berkshire chase frames from Frames Direct. Unless BOIC's blonde is darker than Berkshires, I would have to say chestnut is the most accurate color.

I would agree with IndyMo. Although the original specs might have been in "blonde", the current "chestnut" color aligns to the screen color. Something must have happened between the production of Raiders and now. But there is no way, from what I have seen in either the BOICS or the Berkshire Chase frames, that the blonde was even close. Stay with the "chestnut".

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone know what the color of the frames are in the images on the Indygear section- blonde or chestnut? Whose frames are those?

The Frames on Indy Gear are BOIC's and the color appears to be chestnut. At present, BOIC's are not available and there are no plans at this time to produce them.

The best replacement is the "Berkshire Chase" Panto 14kt in chestnut. If you check out Framesdirect.com you will see they are identical to the BOIC's. The price is $172 (not including the RX) but the quality is superior. And like BOIC, they are made in England.

Indy Mo,
Have you posted any pics yet? I want to see these specs.

No - I am waiting for the Frames to come back from my optometrist - It will be about a week. I planned on posting this weekend but to my surprise the office was open on saturday and I was able to get the script filled. Remember, I've been waiting since October for these babies.

The optometrist commented that he knew the Frame brand (Berkshire) and (BOIC) and thought they were great frames. He also stated that he liked how they fit.

As soon as I get them back - I will post picks.

I can't imagine the what it feels like. It must be like getting a bag without the strap. Or a fedora with no ribbon.

Frames on IndyGear belong to me, and I can confirm that they are Chestnut.

Oh @#$%, I ordered blond because that's what Indygear listed as original. I should be receiving the BC panto 14K blond today or tomorrow. I don't have a digital camera, but I will take some photos and scan them in the next couple of weeks. Then we can see the difference between the colors. Then I'll probably exchange 'em for the chestnut.

Actually Pyroxene had already done that. Also I received a pair & sent them back for the Panto's 14kT's in chestnut. See this thread:
