I got my US Wings VIP jacket in todays mail and I couldn't be happier. When I opened the HEAVY box, I recieved a US Wings Hat, an Indiana Jones poster, and a copy of SGT. Hack's book.

I have owned a sized Wested Raiders Lambskin Jacket for 4 years and love that jacket dearly. I've got it distressed to the point that I love it but it is not a winter jacket. I've frozen my butt off many a time to look like Indy.

Michaelson informed me that the VIP (for those who do not know, it's a cow hide jacket) is a great winter jacket. I couldn't agree more, it's thick and heavy and is going to keep me warm on my long walks to class. I must say thank you very much for your opinion, Michaelson. I love this jacket. the feel of the cow hide is great and the jacket looks fantastic.

Mine is my 'storm' jacket, and it hasn't failed me yet! :D

Wear it well, my friend.

Almost every jacket or hide factory use hides made from the back and flank of the animal. The VIP French cowhide is used from the belly of the animal. That's why it's so soft, and yet extremely heavy in weight and has no marking or scarring like you see in standard cowhides. It's also difficult to obtain, as a lot of it is lost when the flank hides are 'harvested', and has to be obtained specifically for this kind of hide use. It's a special material for the use of Wings.

It's a 'rare bird', and sometimes Wings has to curtail sales of the VIP due to the fact that hide is not available many months of the year.

Enjoy, and glad to help!

HIGH regards! Michaelson

I wore mine last month with a sweater layered underneath in December when I made a visit to my hometown in Ohio, and they were hit with an unseasonabily cold bit of weather that week. Wind chills in the minus zero area. I was comfortable in the jacket, as the sweater provided the insulation, and the VIP was the jacket that protected me from the awful wind chill.
