i've seen alot of beautiful todd's cowhide jackets on the forum which inspired me to get my own. i was still loving the prewashed lambskin i got but todd wasn't as satisfied as i was with the fit.....so he offered to take my measurements EXTREMELY close.

this was the first indy jacket i have received where the action pleats lie flat and closed in a prone position.....usually they wrinkle out or stay open as i have a larger chest/shoulder area than usual....and someday, i'm gonna turn it all to muscle....someday....

i believe todd has mastered how to peice everything together for the best fit you can ever get in a jacket. kudos to you todd....and thanks for the stellar service.....this is definitely the best fitting jacket i own....now i just need to get the shine and newness off of it :D

jacket open:

action pleats are closed and straight:

the jacket has all of the usual SA features that you would find. i've found the cowhide to be a little too shiney from the get go but i've seen some pretty good results from other members after time.....i can't wait to break her......ps...all flying squirrels were exterminated in this production.....

G - That has got to be:

A) One of the best fitting jackets I have ever seen

B) One of the best looking jackets I have ever seen (in terms of overall screen-accuracy, color, drape, etc.)

C) An awesome addition to a jacket collection that seems to be growing at a record pace. (What is this, your 43rd Indy jacket? )

D) All of the above.

I'm going with "D". 8) Congrats!

Now you're talking! That's one of the best looking/fitting jackets I've seen here. Just look at how nicely the back fits. That's where many jackets fail, IMHO.

thanks for the compliments gents....much appreciated.

i'd give this one to ya kev, but it's definitely a one size fits one.....i don't think your normal build would fit nicely into this wide bodied/stumpy armed jacket very well

Seriously nice jacket G - the color is spot on and the pleats look perfect - that is the biggest pet peeve for me, as the pleats on my Wested tend to gape open most of the time. Todd definitely fixed that issue on his jacket...
Congrats!

Dunk that thing in some water and watch it bloom (well not literally). That seems to have a great affect on Todd's cowhide, which I think is an fantastic hide he's chosen. Looks good on you and I agree the fit is better IMHO too...particularly the zipped shot, reminds me of the Raven Bar sceen alot.

i was thinking of putting some water on it to kill the shine....perhaps some saddle soap?

i want to avoid dunking the whole thing into water. does anyone know what saddle soap will do? i believe the sheen is there because of the oil finish on the jacket.....does anyone have an idea of how to take this off without soaking the whole thing? i've already did a wipe with some alcohol....took a minute amount of shine off of it.

A few drags behind a truck should do it. Okay, I know that wasn't very helpful ...

regardless if i can't find a chemical method of removing the shine, there's no better method than letting time take its toll

Hey Indiana G, thats one nice lookin jacket my friend it's a perfect fit, love the way the action pleats lay flat, love the color as well.
You might try 91% Isoprpyl alcohol, give it a light rub down at first. If you raed in the distressing section you'll see this mention a lot for taking the shean off, work some on my Wested Goat.

Wear that beauty in good health and hope it takes you many ah adventure.

That's a perfect fit! To my eyes THAT is the cut from Raiders, rather than the "80's cut" that many prefer.

It’s strange how people can view the same image and each person will tend to remember it differently. I suppose it's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Regardless, that's a keeper. :)
