Club Obi Wan

Here's a whip I just finished. It was made from Paul Nolan's post a while back detailing what he knows about how Morgan makes his whips. Paul's/Morgan was making it differently from me mainly in the area of the 2nd bolster.




I'm happy with how this bullwhip turned out. I got a chance to give it a few cracks on my deck last night, but today it's raining, so it will have to wait until later to see how it really handles!





And the last picture is my whipmaking injury last night from preparing a piece of lace for the whip:

Nice looking whip Louie. Don't feel bad about cutting your finger with a sharp knife, I managed to cut my finger with some scissors making a nylon whip. Now that's a bit embarrassing.

I've regrown the tip of my left thumb at least three times due to whipmaking, I figure one of these days it'll stop growing back.

Until then I feel like some sort of superhero whose power is to regrow his thumbtip...now I'm off to find one of my daughter's super manly "Barbie" band-aids.
