Raiders Bash Reference Pics & NEW TOD

Post by Mac »

For all those who received a new Indy hat for Christmas and need some reference for bashing it Raiders style, here’s a photo I made for my bashes. Bash photo pages tend to come and go, so feel free to copy and host it elsewhere if my link should go down.

NEW: I’ve added a TOD bash reference collage.

Look at pic number 34. You will notice the right side as viewed is tapered. But, if you go to the dvd, and slow motion this sequence, (climbing out of the chasm) you will see in a later frame the hat is no longer tapered. SO, they either straightened the hat back up, or they changed hats during this one filming sequence. Just something for to spend time looking for. :D

All in all a great collage of the Raiders fedora and one that I will print out and put on my hatshop wall. The old one from MK needed to be replaced anyways. Got kinda dog eared over the last 3 years. Fedora

That's an honor for me, sir! :D

I have not printed the photo; it's quite long, so it may not print on two pages correctly. If so, just let me know, I can easily break it into two separate pages for easy printing, and repost it.

Just a caution to anyone who has downloaded the collage: the photo in column 5, row 6 is a bit… misleading.

In that photo it looks like there is, under the ribbon, reverse taper out, before tapering to the back:

Image

Here is a screen cap from a thread by Agent5, viewtopic.php?t=17072
that’s just a fraction of a second later:

And another:

It’s clear from those pictures that the front of the hat under the ribbon is fairly vertical, but that in the first photo, there is a something – a stain, a shadow, a shaft of light or something – that makes it appear to taper outward under the ribbon before tapering to the rear.

So that particular photo in the collage is deceptive. It wouldn’t do much good to replace it; at that resolution the other photos look much the same. #-o

I know many, many people prefer the Temple of Doom bash to Raiders or LC so I’ve added new TOD bash reference photos to the first post above.

But on a serious note, apologies for the poor quality of some of the TOD pics. It’s hard to find good ones.

If anyone has any higher quality close ups of the TOD fedora that are better than the ones I have, post them here and I may try to replace some of the worse ones.

Man, this is an awesome and very useful collage. I've saved them for when I get my Federation. Thanks Mac. 8)

Mac,

How about a Last Crusade bash reference collage?!

Great job on putting it all together for Raiders and Temple!

I’m working on it!

I had lots of Raiders photos on my hard drive (favorite hat and all) but not as many TOD and LC photos. It’s taking a while to find good photos.

Thanks for posting this! I think I sometimes have a characatured image of Indy's fedora in my mind from watching the movies, and having such a complete collage of stills to look at helps put a LOT of things in perspective. Again, thanks!

This came at the perfect time. I'm going to be rebashing my hat in the next few days and I needed some good screen shots to reference. Especially of the center dent on the crown. Thanks

Awesome reference photos! Thanks.

Hey Admins, was curious if there was anyway to have links to these references in the main "sticky" threads on general fedora stuff? I think the photos are a great resource.

Just a suggestion!

Analyzed Screen Shots of The Fedora.

Post by GeordieIndy »

Hey,

I've been trying to find the thread where screen shots of Indy's Fedora were analyzed in-depth.

Anyone point me in the right direction??

Thanks!!

Mac, if you don't mind me "horning in" on your project, I'd like to make a contribution to IndyGear. I appreciate all the assistance that's been provided to me.

Here are 50 screen captures from LC of assorted shots of the bash.

If Mac already has one in the works, I'm sure it'll have a lot of stuff I didn't grab but hopefully this will be of some use to someone!

Row 7, columb 2 looks very Kingdom of the Crystal Skull-ish to me. Anyone else think so? Great job on the collage by the way, Tony.
