Well, light brown, or dark tan. The D.M.'s block is sweet. The Hatsdirect (the one with the wide ribbon) isn't a regular Bushman, it's the "Bushman Featherweight"
The David Morgan is $104. Hatsdirect, $101 (U.S.)

Russ told us about a special order Hatsdirect Brown Bushman about a year ago. The David Morgan site showed a brown Bushman, but they sent me a much lighter hat. I thought it was a lighting, saturation, photography problem. So, I ordered the Hatsdirect Bushman 2 weeks ago. I wasn't told it was a "Featherweight", (I know it is because the word is printed on the sweat) It wouldn't have ment anything to me if they had. They don't have a picture of the hat on their site. But when I got the Hatsdirect hat, I started to worry that Akubra may have retired the original Bushman block. So the same day I ordered one from D.M., hoping they still had some "old" ones sitting on the shelf. I was surprised the hat they sent was brown. Some will find the color too light. The color is called "Nullarbor Tan"

What are the crown height and brim width on DMs bushman?

The "Bushman Featherweight" looks curiously like the D.M. Adventurer.

The DM is 5 1/2, 3 1/4. ..................... I wouldn't be surprised it the Adenturer has the same block as the featherweight. The example on the site has so much taper, it looks like it's been front pinched- when it hasn't yet.

Any chance of an outdoor pic to get a better idea of the colour? And have you tried bashing it yet ?

Sure. .. I've been trying to soften up the felt , but it's a little thick compared to my 90's Bushman. I'm going to sand it a couple 10ths of a mm thinner before I bash it.

How would you say the felt thickness and stiffness compare to a reg. Fed?

DM between an HJ and a Fed. Bushman have fine dense felt. The felt is a similar thickness but they don't soften up easily, like the looser Regular Fed felt.

Thanks for that pic. I was going to order one but that really is a non-colour. Shame.

I might pick one up, just for something a little different.

Oh heck, just get some chocolate brown Fuller Earth, and shade it to the right color. This is not a joke. Fedora

Exact match. What's the problem?
Make's you wonder?

Make's you wonder what this DM would look like with a dimensional cut
and a different Ribbon eh?
The stove pipe block is really quite amazing!
I'll have to see if they come in any other colours.
If the brim was just a bit narrower, it would make an amazing
open crown open road.
Thanks for sharing this.

P.s. I don't mind stiffness if the fit is good.

It does have a nice, faded streets of Cairo look.
