New Fed as I wait for my AB

Post by airforceindy »

Not to detract from the truly fascinating conversation(s) that have been filling the time while we ALL wait on our respective orders from the Mississippi region, but I thought I'd post my first Indy hat. It is the Federation Deluxe that I bought from Indy K and had renovated by Optimo (since Steve is a bit pre-occupied!). Turned out great, I think.

Really worked the pinch for the Raiders look, but I like the snap brim too much at this point to leave it off, especially with my AB coming.

I like how these pictures were taken back in 1957.

Yeah, I know. It's my trusty 1957 Samsung digital that my son has dropped/slammed on the floor a few too many times. The preview screen is now inoperable, and that kinda limits my use of menus and buttons to fix the time and date. Hope it hasn't been a cause for TOO much confusion!

Airforceindy, that is a great looking hat, and it looks like a very good job of creasing it, too!

I placed an order for an AB and am looking forward to that day when it arrives a few months from now. As a grad student who is now starting to do more and more teaching, I've been wearing a lot more suit jackets with which a nice brown fedora could go. But I also have some jackets and coats more in the gray and black scale of colors. And after hearing so many good things about the Akubra Feds., as well as having acquired some Christmas gift money, I just placed an order today for a carbon grey Federation.8)

I didn't think I would be among those who order another fedora while waiting for an AB, but I guess I am now. But if what all of you have said is true, then I should have two great fedoras to mix and match!:)
