New to the forum and just won my first Wested

Post by Anakin Starkiller »

Hi guys, my name is Dan Stokes. I am new to this forum, but I post under this handle on a number of other movie prop message boards.

So,anyways. I have been in the market for a new leather jacket (I lost a bit of weight over the past year and nothing seems to fit anymore), and I've always wanted a Wested. However, I was holding off on getting a raiders jacket because I want to pick up one of Todd's jackets when they become available in long sizes (I have exceptionally long monkey arms). So, I was excited to see that there was a wested last crusade on e-bay in my size 42L this week. I won the auction today and now am totally psyched to get this badbody in and start having adventures all about the Rocchaccha .

I've heard that the Wested Last Crusade is the most film accurate jacket that Wested produces and I am glad to have gotten one at a discount. What do you guys think?

Hi Dan, welcome to COW. As we say here: Come for the gear, stay for the people.
It sounds like you're off to a good start with your gear. Wested made the jackets for LC out of lambskin, but the cowhide you won is much better for real life adventuring. Make sure you post some pics when you get the jacket!

Welcome to the madness - sounds like you got a good start to your gear collection. You’ll definitely need to post pics of the jacket once you have it in hand...

Welcome Dan, theses jackets become very addicting so be prepared for that. Here's the deal, you get your jacket (congrats by the way!) wear it for the rest of this cool/cold season and there'll be one or two things about it that you'd kind of like to be slightly different... then you'll think about it...and think about it...and so on :? . Then you'll start making your order list for your next jacket. Don't say you weren't warned :P . We'll that's the way it's always been for me anyways. Again welcome!

Welcome! I couldn't agree with Doug C more, When I got my first wested, it was going to be the last jacket I'd ever need! I'm on my 3rd wested now and am planning specs for the 4th. It truly is an addiction

Nice find! I'm with these guys in saying that it is definitely an addiction. I'm waiting on my 2nd Wested for Christmas. That jacket has stunk me into the world that is gear collecting haha! I don't think I can stop now

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I know all about addictions :D I'm already quite addicted to Star Wars props, so this will be just one more way for me to be poor

I'm pretty psyched about the Wested, but you guys are right, I'm already planning my next jacket. It's gonna be a Todd standard, once he gets some long sizes in.

I usually write: "Welcome To The Madness, You've come for The Gear, But You'll Stay For The People..." But someone beat me to it.

Good to see you here! Don't get stuck on one table, there's a lot to see here!

There's always Han's jacket...but even that is pushing it a little - but I don't think people would look at it and think it's unusual.

I hear ya! I also have a collection of Ghostbusters gear, which is nice because it's much more DIY than Indy. However people will stare when you wear that flightsuit on the street. Good for Halloween, though!

Thanks again for the welcome guys.

Yeah, I got into Star Wars collecting when the first prequel came out. Seeing it on the screen reminded me on how much I loved the films as a kid.

And I guess with the new Indy film coming out I've got the indy itch again. Although I do have a small Indy collection already--A Wampa grail diary and a resin golden Idol (which is currently stripped down and waiting a repaint and maybe some gold leafing).

--I know what you mean about wearing your collection :D
It'll be nice to get some use out of this stuff. Everyone always looks at me weird when I go out wearing my Vader helmet or lightsaber, but I think that this will be different
