Interesting whip, Is it bullwhip with a mini style handle(That would be my guess) or is it a snakewhip with a decorative knot?

It's actually a mini handled bull whip. The handle is 5". The whip is very fast and responsive and cracks easily. It also is already broken in since he made it for himself and used it.

Thanks, I was curious to hear how Mikes whips handle. I’ve never had the chance to throw one myself, but I know others who speak very fondly of them. I really liked the look your two-tone bullwhip that he made too. I think he is still located in Michigan, hopefully I’ll get a chance to meet up with him down the road and see his work in person.

Hi Dan, yes he is still in Michigan. From what I understand from the lady that is selling his whips on Ebay, she is helping him develop a website. I have sent her pictures of both whips to use for it. I also suggested that he join this forum since there are so many well known and respected whipmakers here. She said she would have him look into to it, so maybe he will. I thought that he was using too light a cracker on the two whips I bought and immediately changed the one on the the larger whip, but not the mini. My son decided he wanted to crack the new small one and the overhead cracks actually hurt my ears, and I wasn't even close to him. So I guess Mike knows better than me .

That would be interesting to see, I’ve noticed a couple more of his whips on eBay of late but There is not a whole lot known about him as a whipmaker. Hopefully he will join in here, I know I’d be curious to see more of his work.
I use really fine poppers too, For the most part they seem work better on the high performance type whips compared to thicker or bulkier poppers, which can act almost as a air break of sorts.
