Isn't THIS The New Indy Gun?

LOL,,O.K., I love to do this! Just another weapon I sold recently. I had this baby for close to 20 years. Bought it new when they were $495.00  Sold for close to $1500.00. Anyhoo, it's a SPAS 12, seen in many movies, Matrix, The Hitcher, Jurassic Park, etc.. As always, please disregard the rabid teddy bear in the background

Thought I'd snap a few pics before I sent er' off-

Sweet! I've wanted one of those for 20 years. I had a chance, but decided not to spend the money. I could always get one later, right? Then they were put on California's 'banned' list.

But I don't live in California anymore.

$1500, huh? Hmm... maybe I'd put mine out for sale:

Been playing and hunting with it since 1990... got some safety issues though (yes, THE safety issues... I do own both the lever-style and cross-bolt one - the latter is broken and spares are pretty scarce these days.)

Which did you prefer, TR - pump or auto?

That's because the Terminator wreaked havoc on that police station way back when. Seriously though, I bet that has something (although not everything) to do with the cost of these skyrocketing the past 20+ years. They are prominent in several movies. Part of the Spas is also used to make the Pulse rifle from Aliens as well...one of the most popular prop replicas out there.

I almost purchased one back in about 1990 or so for around $500 but they're not really practical for use in hunting pheasant.

I hunt wood grouse with mine - works fine with a barrel choke. :)

Yeah,I had my safety changed when they did the recall back in the day.
I prefered auto over the pump. The pump action really isn't that good on these guns, and the auto is just waaayyyy faster.
Not only did I need some extra funds, but I wanted something with less weight and with a little more ease of use under high stress situations. The SPAS can be cumbersome and a little confusing under duress, and it weighs close to 10 pounds! I bought the new 'police' version of the Remington 870. Side folder, three rounds extra in the stock,18 inch barrel (less than the SPAS) and a rock solid, easy to use pump action. I'll post a couple pics.
