Club Obi Wan

I just got a blank firing 1851 Navy for my new Man with No Name costume (Thanks Indiana Max for inspiring me with your great costume, or reigniting my compulsion to find screen accurate replicas) from the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I was impressed how it felt in my hands, made of a metal (but not strong enough for real ammunition) and having the weight similar to a real gun.

I own an Artsee1 S&W replica and admire the look of the piece, but it doesn't have the weight of a real gun. Is there a product out there that has the look AND feel of the Indy S&W Hand Ejector? Maybe a blank firing model with moving parts?

Ok, here's what I did. If your not extremely talented to DIY or know someone who is, this might not be the best option, but for me - living in Germany, where I can't have the real thing and a friend of mine being a prof. propmaker - that is the closest I'll ever get.

I got myself the dirty harry .44 Magnum from Modelguns-worldwide.com. Jay there has been a great help! He even un-screwed the plastic grips, so I could have a picture of what it looks like underneath. I then had it sent directly to my friend who cut the barrel to 4", made new wooden grips from scratch, filed the barrel round on the top, etc. etc. etc. It's not completely done yet, but I'm sure he'll post pictures once it's done. It's a LOT of work, and rather expensive for a blank as well, but again, I'll never get closer than that.

This is the only blank firing pistol I've been able to find but the price is a bit steep for it not firing real bullets. On a plus side I'd think it would be fine to wear at a con.

I've always wondered why Denix (or any other company for that matter) hasn't made a replica Webley and/or S&W that functions like the Mauser(sp). I have a Han Solo replica made from said Denix and you can pull back the hammer and pul the trigger and that's fine by me. It's got the weight, feel, and look of the real thing as if it came from Han Solo's holster. I would think it'd be just as easy to make a Webley and/or S&W and at a reasonable price. Somebody should get on that
