I attempt to make the Raiders holster for the S&W myself, since I have some thick leather in the right color liing around.
Now if some of you could help me out with some measurements a pics of your holsters I would be very thankful.
Also I realized that there seemes to be some hard item in the bottom. Is that plasic?!
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Thanks for the tip Indy007. I'll go and check out Lees site.
As for the leather: I got mine some years ago during my holydays in Poland.
The color is dead on, and it is thick enough for a holster. I bought about 3 x 1meter for as little as 50 bucks!
Thanks again,
Marc

I could trace my holster onto paper and mail it to you. How would that work?

Schwammy, that would be perfect!!!
Please make some kind of scale on the paper (like an one inch line), so I know when I have the right size.
My e-mail is:

Thanks again,

No, I meant I'll trace it and mail you the actual sized tracing via the post office, so you'll have a life-size pattern. IM me your mailing address.

Marc, just to follow up, I finally mailed that pattern off to you. The delay was due to my not having a piece of paper large enough, and having just started spring semester, I got a little busy. But I finally bought some newsprint and got it done and mailed off to ya. So I hope it is of some help.

schwammy

I appreciate it very much!
-Now if I only could get that S&W... Naaa, better not here in Germany!
Although: a blank firing replica would be great to have, but I haven't seen any yet.
Thank you Schwammy!
Best regards,
Marc

Geesh I just noticed this post after I left a similar one about trying my hand at making a holster. Marc please keep us informed with your progress and I'll try to do the same.

Archaeologist,
I received Shwammy's patterns on tuesday and it's great.
I made a copy, which I folded in the middle before I cut it out, so it would be identical on both ends, put it on the leather and draw the pattern on it. Then I cut along the line with VERY sharp scissors (actually for bonsai), but I can't sew it together yet, because I need to make the groves first.
I guess I have to wait until I visit my parents next time, since my father has got a Dremel (little electric tool) that should be able to help me out.
I'll keep you posted how it turns out.
Regards,
Marc
